getting to the flop

I find myself anxious to get to the flop. I'm getting nickeled and dimed to death just trying to limp in to the flop. I need to start learning these percentages you guys throw out in your threads.

You'll probably have MUCH better results if you resolve to only play premium hands initially. Maybe take only the top ten hands for starters: A-A, K-K, Q-Q, J-J, 10-10, 9-9, 8-8, A-K, A-Q and A-J. If you play ONLY those hands initially, you'll find that you get in a whole lot less trouble than you would otherwise.

Now keep in mind that (like most things in poker) this is quite a bit easier said than done.

Good luck Derek!

I did a little experiment over the weekend to try and prove that generally speaking, you will do better if you play fewer starting hands.

Be more selective with your starting hands!
