Well thought it was time to re-focus and set myself a new challenge.

The last challenge was a success, but i lost focus when i got rattled by the fact that i couldnt get rake at full tilt. Still cant but decided for the time being im going back to tilt, as i like the games and software best.

Since the last challenge i have been playing backed by kwer18 - the deal lasted around 3 months and we were lucky enough to run like the wind and make a very nice profit each.

Kwer18 (Kev) helped me greatly with my game where we discussed hh, situations, position, stack sizes, bankroll\buyins etc etc.

Kev also introduced me to universal replayer which is a great way for reviewing your hh graphically. Superb tool that can be found here

Universal Replayer - the ultimate poker replayer

Kev was also working with Acesfull1026 (Chris) and they invited me to into the group to discuss various aspects of the game. So each Wednesday we take an hour or 2 to discuss the game. This has been great for me and really helped me understand there is so much that i need to improve on.

One area of my game that is shocking is my post flop play and the lads have been getting me to think about ranges of hands. Ive got a ton of work to do in this area, but hopefully this is one area i can improve my game hugely and fingers crossed this will tell in the results.

Anyway massive thanks to both Kev and Chris for all the help and support, 2 top blokes as well i may add.

    Part2

Now enough rambling lets get onto the challenge.

Ive now got a decent roll set aside in the bank and i want it to stay there and be added to

The challenge is simple to turn $200 into $1000 and hopefully if i get there i will then review the situation.

I am going to stick to the rough bankroll guide set in this excellent thread by Chipless.

The spreadsheet is invaluable for anyone wanting to build a bankroll.

    http://www.badbeatspoker.net/forum/b...ying-sngs.html

    http://www.badbeatspoker.net/forum/b...uidelines.html

So based on this i am going to be tabling between 6 and 10 tables playing mostly the $2 27 man with a mix of $3 90 man - roughly a 70/30 split.

With a bankroll of $200 that gives me around 88 games at the $2 27 man level, this is more than adequate i believe for this level and is the reason that i feel im comfortable adding in a few $3 games as well.

With this mix my ABI (average buy in) will be around the $2.50 mark.

Once i hit the $500 mark i will increase the ABI by mixing the $2 and $5 27/45 man with some $3 90 man. Will also do this when i hit the $750 mark - presuming i dont go busto that is

    Bankroll $200-$500 $2/3 ABI
    Bankroll $500-$750 $4/5 ABI
    Bankroll $750-$1000 $5/6 ABI

If the bankroll drops below $100 at anytime then i will drop down to the $1 level and look to play the $1 45 man.

There are really no rules to this challenge, other than sticking to the bankroll guidelines. I am allowed to take the occassional shot at some mtt but the buyin must be inline with my ABI rules.

The challenge will run from 22/March/2011 till i either go busto or hit the $1000 mark

Other than that wish me luck.

    Thanks lads.

Small update as i havent played much over the last few days as been on holidays.

Sharkscope has been hit and miss over last week or 2 but below is a bankroll update.

Bankroll is at $261 plus a step 2 ticket - ive also sent $5 to Lappin to the relay for life charity and entered the light\welter april badbeat contest, which has cost me $15.

These are $1 and $4 rush tourney - not my fav, but should be fun over the next month and fit in with my ABI.

Going to also stick to playing the $2 27 man and the $3 90 man, but also play some $2 9man when i dont have time to play as much. Will also be looking to turn the step 2 ticket into a step 3 ticket and either take a shot at a 45 man or one of the guaranteed knockout mtt. (if i get the token that is)

Probably be Monday before i get stuck into some serious play as we are meeting friends over the weekend so will just be the odd small session here and there.

Fingers crossed i can push on and get past the $300 mark.

Garbage run since last post cant win a hand even when ahead.

Bankroll is $220 (inc $20 ive sent to dyehard for a bap - have invested in other baps but that was from my own money)

MTT night tonight so hopefully i can run a bit better.

Also looks like sharkscope is working again so should be able to track my results better.

Edit to say shocking night in the mtt - im must learn to win a flip.Went on tilt and my abi was $5 as i totally lost focused and tbh just wasnt motivated.

Also played some cash (not a good idea)

    Bankroll is a shocking $148

Going to also stop buying into baps (from my previous separate bankroll - got $550 of this left so need to leave it there as backup incase i donk this off.)

I have also decided to move $50 across to stars to play games when tilt is down - which it is at this moment.

Got to re-focus and stick to what i know and still think i can do this - so here goes.

Havent played as much lately, just seemed to have lost motivation - also we have had some freak weather in the UK, sun, sun, sun.

Its not usually sunny in the summer so for the weather to be so good in early April is a bonus, so its been Barbie, beer and relaxing in the sun for past 3 days - very nice.

Anyway bankroll is back in profit after my lapse and stands at $217 before i play a small session today.

Think one of the reasons it been hard to be motivated is because i was previously playing backed and winnin games between the $5 to $10 level.

So think i really should have started this challenge with $500 and started at the $5 level and aimed for $2000.

Anyway im going to push the abi level up a bit and maybe not play as many tables - basically take more shots but never risk more than 10% of the roll at any point.

Aim for this week is to get to the $300 mark and try and get motivated.

Well what a really shit week it has been in the poker world with the suspension of american players from various poker sites.

Im gutted for everyone who has been affected by this - through this forum ive got to know a good few people who i consider to be great friends. What has happened is nothing short of a disgrace and the sooner this get sorted the better for everyone.

I love playing online poker and tbh my world would fall apart if i couldnt play. I have chronic back problems so wouldnt be able to play live poker even if i wanted to. So i cant imagine how this has affected people across America - shocked, anger, devastation at a guess.

All the best to everyone this has affected and fingers crossed your back online soon.

Anyway Bankroll has moved from $217 to $332 so $115 up on the week

At least one day a week i like to play some mtt, so wed night i loaded up a bunch on stars - made 3 decent runs in huge fields, but just cant seem to win the big hands when it gets down to the decent wonga.

This hand really pissed me off and shows the frustration of mtt. Finished 91/2900+ for about $15 sigh

Well bankroll is looking very good, mainly due to playing cash games and playing very very tight.

Bankroll is $599 plus $30 in tourney dollars - so up around $270.

Luckily i removed $200 from stars account and just left minimal on there when they stopped the US players playing (the bastards). They now have a 50% reload bonus so going to re-deposit the $200 back on stars and aim to collect the $100 bonus which would be a nice boost.

I also only need another 700 vpp for a $50 stellar bonus - so hoping for some bonus cash in the next few weeks

Bought myself a new laptop, which arrived yesterday, much better spec than my old one and is superb for multi tasking. The best thing though is the 17inch screen - really helps me fit 6 tables on without any overlap, so hopefully no more dodgy misclicks.

MTT night tonight and im looking to play the new $11 BIG tourney on stars (formerly the 40k - now 50k). Played this last night but fell just short of the money - pretty card dead tbh.

Reason im playing this is that if you play 3 of these $11 big tourney you get a free $11 scoop ticket - stars are also doing this for the $22, $55 and $109 level (just wish my roll was bigger lol, though may have a crack at the $22 if i have a good run )

Suppose its never been better for players outside the US but im still pissed with whats happened and looking forward to the day when US players are back online.

GL to everyone in the US getting there cash and hopefully your ripping the live game up.

Anyway time to get some bonus $ one thinks

    lol - cheers mate.

Thought i was going to complete this challenge in one fell swoop on Wed night.

Took a shot at the big $22 on stars and finished 40/2405 for $87. Got it all in pre flop with equal stacks kk v aq - q on flop and then q on river. One day, one day they will hold

oops just entered a $22 turbo mtt 500 cap - thought id entered a $2 one hate turbo.

Dont know how your coping without playing online poker mate - it would destroy me. Hope you have managed to get yer cash of stars and then tilt asap.

Will hook you up on skype sometime next week if your around.

gl bud if your playing live
