THE ISOP Player Of The Series
The ISOP Player Of The Series will no doubt be a fiercely fought for title so to add a little spice and degenerate gambling into the mix, we are having an open wager on who will win.
The Bet will be structured as follows:
Minimum bet: $25
Maximum bet: $200
If you win, you will win the amount of your wager from each player who has matched your bet or as much as they have bet if the amount is less. A sidepot will be generated by any unmatched sums to be paid to the highest ranking player left in the wager, distributed in the same way as the main pot. If there is still a side pot, then the process is repeated until all monies are paid out.
To illustrate this system:
Say Dr Fill Good, Chipless Wonder, Galactus x and myself are the only players in the bet. Dr Fill and I both bet 200, Chipless bets 100 and galactus bets 50. If the finishing order between us is Chipless 1st, Dr Fill 2nd, Galactus 3rd and me 4th:
chipless gets 350 (100 from Fill and myself, 50 from galactus and his own 100 back)
fill gets 200 (100 from me and 100 of his 200 back)
As discussed in a previous thread, the points system for the ISOP Player Of The Series will be as follows:
the square root of the number of players playing multiplied by the square root of the buy-in (not inc. rake but inc. bounty) multiplied by the points assigned to the place that the player comes.
Those points will be assigned as follows:
- The top 50% of the field will receive points
- If the field contains an odd number, the number is rounded up but the player placing in the bottom points spot gets has his/her points halved

- If there is a tie as in the case of a shootout format, the points for each place will be shared pro rata between the players finishing in the same position - ie. joint 3rd in a heads-up shootout will get 11.5 points each (13+10 divided by 2), joint 5th in a heads-up shootout will get 5.25 points (8+6+4+3 divided by 4), joint 7th in a 6-handed shootout will get 2 points each (4+3+2+1+1+1 divided by 6)
- In the case of the rebuy tournament, the buy-in will be considered the average by-in (ie. the total prize pool divided by the number of players)

I'm in for $100!
amendment to the rules:
if in the case of a heads-up tournament, a player receives a bye thru round 1, they will only receive a pro-rated proportion of the pts earned.
eg if a player gets a bye thru round one and wins by winning three matches instead of 4, they will get 3/4 of the points
If that first round bye puts a player in a share of the points spots, they will not receive points and the points will be distributed evenly between only the players who have earned their way into that round.
