Question Would/Could You Fold AA Here?

    WSOP ME
    Would/Could you fold AA here?

Anytime in the first two hours of the main event.

You raise 4x on the button w/ and player X calls from the BB.

You have about the same amount in chips and the blinds are still micro compared to your 20Kish stack.

No real knowledge of player X and his style of play.

    Flop comes

Player X checks you bet pot and player X shoves.
    Do you call?

Is this an easy fold or call?

Does it depend on how you got into this event in the first place?

Do you fold on the theory that there is never a good enough reason to risk your stack this early in an event this big?

Or do you play for the big double up?

Why would this player shove for such a huge amount on a nonthreatening flop if he held trips or even two pair?

I usually lean toward making calls like this in SNGs, but early in the WSOP Main Event the stacks are insanely deep making this an easy fold in my opinion.

So what is all of your calling ranges for this flop. Where do you all draw the line at? I'm assuming if you fold AA here you'd fold two pair and probably 33 as these hands aren't any better than AA in relative value in this spot IMO. Of course you snap call TT. Do you call 55?

William is getting to the point I was trying to make or ask with this exercise. Why is this such an easy call in just about every situation except the ME. Is it the money factor both buy in and final table cash? I understand its a deep structure and plenty of time to get it in good, but what is this guy pushing with that we fear so much? Why is he pushing here? I guess many of you see it as black and white but if he flats here or min reraises is it any different? It appears to me that he has no reason to shove here other than to steal the pot or at best protect bottom two pair.

I agree I most likely fold too, but I was looking for a deeper break down on the change of psyche when playing in a said structure or buyin. Does a pro play this any different?

It's not an ME-specific question. It's a stack-size question. If you have 200-400 BBs, this is an easy fold.

If he has half your stack does it change anything?

A pro folds, but I would call here. Even with 200-400 BBs, I'm not good enough to fold in every marginal spot IMO, and most people aren't. Though the main event I'm sure has more than it's fair share of fish, most aren't going to be around very long and the field is going to get very tough very fast. I don't have a big enough advantage over the field to fold anything but the nuts to an unknown player. Especially knowing that lots of people do crazy things, and it's so early in the tournament that these people are probably still alive.

However, I am very curious to know what everybody would call with here. If folding AA is an easy fold, is 55?

Perfectly worded in my opinion. This is exactly what I was trying to say with my obtuse wording above.

I don't think I'm folding middle set here, regardless of the chip stacks.
