When to stop and go?
This something I've been thinkn about alot lately. So I figured I'd start a thread about it. SO whens the best time time to stop and go? Do you look for specific players to stop and go against. If so, what players do your look for. Do you just look for good situations to stop and go. If so, what situations do you look for?

The stop and go is used to increase fold equity in a pot.
This mean that if you think you will get called more often if you shove preflopp, you flattcall and shove flopp with more FEV than you would ve had initially.

This is correct.
Board cards are somewhat irrelevant btw. When you decide to do a stop n go, you are calling to shove any flop, not calling to shove any safe flop.

^^^^ ya i agree with that. a good example i can think of...
full table. active player(or weak/bad) in MP opens with 25-35bb. an equal stack, stack B, flats in position. you are sitting the BB with 7-10bb and can sense weakness. instead of shoving pre and being looked up by one or both stacks purely on pot odds, shoving post flop can make it harder for the opener to call because if he thinks stack B was trapping, or hit the flop, the opener flatting your post flop shove is essentially saying he is willing to play for his stack, thus narrowing his call/reshove range.
this is my understanding of a good stop n go. i hope this is right, im not a pro yet lulz

stops and goes generally don't work as well vs 2 players, well because you're against 2 players

Although I agree that your cards and the board cards are somewhat irrelevant, I want to point out that I don't think they're completely irrelevant. For example, I have found that a paired board will serve to make a stop and go much less believeable.
Great topic Chuck!

I mean, you're right that it's less effective on paired boards. But, it's a play that you decide to make PF. You should either decide to make it or decide not to make it PF. Otherwise calling what is typically ~1/3 of your stack (cuz you usually do it w/ ~pot bet behind) and folding on the flop is ultra-spewy.

Obviously the only change of heart that is permissable under the Stop-Go Act is when you flop well...
eg.
if I am stop-going with a rag ace and an ace flops, i will check it.
if I am stop-going with a small pair and I flop a set, i will check it
