    Live Cash Hand @ Hollywood

Here's and ineresting hand that took place at my $1/$3 NL table. It was about 8 am on Saturday morning. This hand featured 3 players. Player A had a huge stack ($1,750). Player B was a female friend of Player A and had about $100. Player C had the 2nd biggest stack ($1,300). The other players had stacks anywhere from $50 - $600.

Several hours ago Player A had already commented that he didn't want to get involved in any big pots against Player C because of the stacks. Although he said he's not afraid to lose his money. Player C agreed.

Most of the players have been playing all night and were familiar with each other. By this time, the table had a "home game" feeling to it. There was a lot of chatter and many limped in pots.

So on this particular hand Players A,B,C, and a couple others saw the flop.

Player A was OOP in seat 6. Player B in seat 1 and Player C was in seat 2.

    The flop came

    Player B bets out $40.
    Player C calls.
Player A started talking about B's hand and says he can't be beat and raises $100.

Everyone knows he is telling the truth. He flopped the nuts and didn't want to take his friends money.

    Player B folds.

Player C thinks for a moment and to everyone's surprise calls.

"What the fuck? Are you serious? I just said I got the nuts! Why are you trying to play a pot with me? I already said I'm not trying to mix it up with you." Just some of the comments from player A.

    The turn card is .

Player A is still fuming and checks.
Player C stares at his own chips and shuffles them around for what seemed like a long time, and tosses out $350.

Player A, stilled pissed mucks his cards.

Anyone think Player C was crazy for calling the bet knowing he was 100% beat?

If he had 67 or top set...id peel one off everytime. If he boats/quads up you can pull 100-500 depending on if player A folds any scare card since he doesnt want to mix it up w player C (in which case we def want to call his raise).... if we have 67 and a 3 or 8 comes off, we can make alot more if he is stubborn w his straight. Im not convinced that player A had 63 though.

Absolutely not. Player C now knows that Player A's hand can't improve. He gets to bluff at any better straight card, or board pairing card. Also, we don't know that Player C didn't have the same hand, only his is suited .. so he knew he was getting a freeroll. Or, better yet, he knew that even if they get all their stacks in, their still chopping, so he might as well try and bluff.

Player A was out of line for talking about his hand while Player B was still in. I'm a big fan of table talk, but only heads-up.

Ok I feel pretty good since I was Player C.

I had the 67. Normally I wouldn't call a $100 bet especially if I knew hew already had the nuts. However, with his huge stack and me being up about $900, I was willing to gamble.

It was so funny how I had to explain implied odds to PLayer A. Frustrating actually because he wouldn't listen and insisted that I played bad poker. He insisted that he wasn't mad but couldn't let it go for several minutes.

Even funnier is that now he was intent on trapping me and taking my stack. I noticed this about 15 minutes later. He was playing very passively. The peak moment, for me, came when I was dealt 99. Again, a limped around pot. The flop came T 5 6. Player A thinks for a moment and checks. It checks around to me and I check as well. Right now I am sure he has a 10, just intuition I guess. A 10 peels off on the turn and this time Player A bets out. I put my head down and start laughing hysterically to myself because I know he has a Ten and was trying to trap me. I fold as well as everyone else. He flips over T 2 and drags a $15 pot.

Ya 6-7 seemed most apparent to me and i like your play alot, although i think its strange that he would fold "2-3" on the turn. So i guess the implied odds werent as great as we thought, which leads me to believe he had 2 pair or something rather than a straight.

Also, just keep smiling and take in the pot rather than giving him reasoning.
