So, for the first time since August, I did something noteworthy in taking 2nd in the 30K SuperTurbo on FTP for a little under $6800. I'd be lying if I said it didn't feel extremely good. In fact, it's one of the biggest feelings of satisfaction I've had in poker, because it's the start to coming out of the longest downswing I have ever gone through.

I wish that I was one of those people who can just shrug off variance as part of poker, but I'm not, at least not yet. Small, week...

I quit my job back in March, because I thought I would be happier be playing poker than working a 9-5. I loved it in March and April, and even in May and June. No boss, no deadlines, no schedules made for me, more money. For awhile, that's exactly what it was. But, then it got away from me some.



Anybody who knows me well knows how stressful poker has become for me for the past 4-5 months. Nothing has gone very well (except for August), and I really haven't played...

I played 3 events this weekend, and bubbled 2. I think I played pretty well though.

The $1500 WSOP event on Saturday was the first. I had a pretty good table draw w/ some really bad players. But, I lost with 4 top 10 hands in teh first 20 minutes lol, but I minimized the damage pretty well. I had chipped back up to ~5000 at 50/100 by mixing up my CBets pretty well and getting people to bluff at me.

Then this hand comes up. I get AQ and raise to 300 from the hijack....

Since the FT debacle a few days back, I have had trouble finding my A-game. That's the worst thing about a downswing. I just read Greg's blog and he alluded to it too.

It's easy to say that you will play your best at all times, and that results don't affect you. The truth is, though, very few people can honestly say that. It affects small things, even subconsciously. Sometimes, it's harder to get zoned in and find spots to chip-up. If you think your A-game is just getting it in ahead...

Been a frustrating month both poker and non-poker related. Despite not working for ATT since 2/28, I still am having trouble getting paid, but that might be getting resolved soon.

Been close to a month since I cashed out on FTP and PS without recieving my money, but today is the day they essentially told me they would start to care about it not being in my account. Hopefully that gets resolved soon.
