IS it possible to lose 4k in one day playing 1-2.

Well i did it. I have officially done it. Lost 4k playing 1-2 in one day not even a long session. I lost about 1400-2000 worth of hands either set to set. Or say i have JQ flop JJ2 all in flop turn A he have AA. i lost another 700 probably bluffing or missing a huge drop and flop ups. AK to 22-1010 becuase people feel 6 betting preflop 99 or 44 is the right call. Didn't win one.

lost a 500 dolalr pot KK to K7. Thats right. Raise button re raise BB i re raise to 70 he pushes 250. Sigh if he has AA o0o well. Nope K7 suited. FLop one CLub you know the rest.

Just need to vent becuase this is probably my biggest one day lose of my career. And i am so ashamed of it. I thought cash games was my calling. I was doing very well fixing my tweaks grinding it out. Then boom. One day it all falls apart becuase of so many sets verse sets. O0o0o andby the way i had top two pair verse bottom set around 5-6 times also. I just dont' get how its possible for that to happen. Sigh i hate cash and i want to ban myself from it forever. Even though i think i can make a lot of money in it.

So for the positive question? Is it normal for people to lose that much or am i just really unlucky/bad to have done this.

Im not sure if this is normal, i play 4-8 tables of $25 max (obv softer opponents), but i cant recall ever going on a 20 buy in down swing in one session (not even 10 buyins for that matter) but i dont normally continue when im having bad days.

Don't quit because you lost 20 bis. From experience, I recomend playing a game where losing 40 bis will not make you very upset until you are sure you crush the game for >3PTBBs. I recomend cooling off, finding some hands that you may be unsure if you played optimally, posting some of those (with no mention of your losing day) deleting this thread and forgetting about it.

20bi downswings are very standard in cash games. That seems like a lot for 1 session, but it really depends on the length of the session.

Were you playing PS? 200NL is considered one of the toughest levels there because of SNE chasers.

I'm guessing rush. 1000hands/hour is the easiest way to do it

That makes sense. I'm guessing you lose a little edge in Rush too which increases variance. Although, presumably softer field should counter that somewhat I suppose.

"or am I really unlucky/bad to have done this?

It is definitly possible to have been this unlucky in your session. I think the most I ever lost playing $100nl was $800 in a session and that was with a pretty cautious playing style. All the senarios you mention can all come up in that one session time after time, you dont believe its possible but it is , the important thing now is to try and forget about it and not chase it back. That is a very hard thing to do. Gl.

whaaaaaaaaaaaat If I lost 20 buy-ins I would shoot myself. I feel like smashing things when I lose 2 buy-ins.

Bu as previously mentioned many times, cash games are not my thing.
