I was not able to confirm this, but I heard a rumor that Dana Babel won the ladies event. If so, way to go Dana!

Edit: She did win it. Here is a link to her thread:

Bruce, it paid $778. Payouts started at 144. Also heard that Hollywood screwed upped and paid additional 10 players. They caught their mistake and heard they short changed the players after the mistake was caught. I guess the computer count of players did not match the actual players left. Players 154 to 145 got paid and the purse must of been short about $6580. A player I know finished 69th and went to payout window and there was a long line and payouts where on hold. He was then dropped from 69th to 79th place, so he recieved less money. He claimed players where upset because they made moves based on trying to move up one pay scale. I have not hear the whole story from Hollywood side, but, was told the remaining players would be shorted money. If this is true it is upsetting that Hollywood's mistake should cost the players. This is def true, my buddy finished 52nd. They stopped the tourney in middle of a level after realizing the mistake. He said they paid an extra 50 spots, but I am not sure what is accurate. The fact that they would adjust the prize pool is really dirty. Shouldn't have even been a consideration on their part. I could hear the ppl in the background having a fit when he called me.

selfproclaim, I was told 10 players got paid that shouldn't have. 50 players getting paid that shouldn't have is hard to believe. I remember starting Saturday (day 2 )event#1. I reviewed the computer monitor and we were starting level 19 with 216 players and avg. chip stack was 132k. Before the tournament started the TD annouced that the computer was off by 10 and actually we had 206. Looking at our area of the ballroom I thought we had 23 tables set up with the bags on the tables and players per table was 9.
Once the bubble was reached, each player getting knocked out was being handed a plaque with your finishing position by the TD and as you were leaving assistants would collect your finishing plaque and your casino card. She then escorted us to the pay out window. Pay out lady called out our finishing position, took the plaque and signed the paperwork to get paid.
I have called Hollywood Tournament Director and got his voice mail. Told him my name and the event I was in and that I would like answer on how the Casino actually handled this situation and why. Strongly feel the Casino is obligated to let all players now their position in this matter. If they truly shorted the players that would be just WRONG!!!
1419 entries in this tournament, 64k was raked by Hollywood. I find it really hard that this casino can't find a way to compensate players.

Know of at least two players from Columbus that were in the final chop. Hadn't heard about the payout discrepancies. Keep us updated if there is any further info.

Sounds like a third player from Columbus was in the chop then. The two I know of are Ryan and Men.
