Elation to Devastation!!!
Im playing on .25 .50 6 seater cash table on Cake poker. I have $68 behind me and everyone is playing a fairly friendly game. Lots of flops are being seen and limping isnt really being punished as people seem to want to see a flop. A villan sits at the table and buys in for max $50. He waits for BB to play. All I have in my notes on him is that he punishes limpers, so I make my plan. 2 hands finish then its his BB. Button calls .50, Im small blind and I call .50. Im expecting a raise. True to form BB raises to $2. Button folds, BANG I raise $6.50 with 10 5 offsuit. Villan waits then calls. Ok Ive made a bad move but Im not finished yet. Flop comes 5 10 K WOW I FEEL LIKE THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD! This sucker is now really going to get hurt. I bet $15 into the pot (which I was going to do anyway). The villan goes all in straight away. Without hesitating I call, pot is $100.50. He turns over AJ he has absolutly nothing (to his credit) he new I was making a move. But to push all in with A high after facing that kind of opposition is just stupid in a cash game. Turn comes a 3, river a Q. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! This idiot has hit a straight on the river and my "move" however stupid at the start of the hand has exploded. I am absolutly devestated I only have 10 mins left before work and instead of being $80 up for the day that Queen has made it a losing $20 down for the day. Gutted.

I'm not going to comment about your play, since I know you were just playing the player and I love to make a move with a random hand sometimes if the situation feels right. I just have a little history with 10 5. 10 5 is an interesting hand. One interesting thing to note is that every straight MUST have a 10 or a 5. So it would seem that even though this is a pretty trashy hand that it might have a little bit of untapped potential. The history with me is that although I fold it almost every time (except maybe in the sb with great odds or heads up) I have only won with it on stone cold bluffs. I have been watching every time (even when I fold 10 5) to see if it would have hit and for over a year havent seen a flop come with two 5's, two 10's or two pair like you saw. It only made a str8 a couple times, but if I played it would have been tough to pay the price to see the turn/river cards. Just a statistical anomaly for me I guess.

Yes that is interesting, I think Im going to stay away from that hand for a while though lol. If it would have held up I would have been so proud. Things like that come along once in a while, but I realise once you have made the initial reraise and its called you should just swallow your pride and give up.

I think this was an excellent play and you got unlucky. This is why you take notes and next time the player sits in with you, you can make the same play and hopefully stack him, getting your loss back and more. This is why you make plays against players when you know their patterns, you just got 4 outted, it happens, heck compaired to the times I get 2 outted in pair over pair situations your beat is tame
