    Two Outs on the River

I limped from late position into a pot with five players. One opponent bet 120 on the flop, two players called, and then I raised to 600. Only one opponent called. He then bet 1,000 on the turn leaving 1,500 behind, so I raised him all-in. He called, leaving himself only two outs on the river. But a 19:1 (95%) advantage just isn't enough when the poker gods are made at you.

How many chips did you start the hand with? What was the blind level?

Early in the game - first or second blind level of a tournament.

I was the chip leader at the table with ~ 3,800 chips, and everyone else had ~2,500 to 3,200.

He made a poor call on the flop, but after he hit his kicker on the turn, he wasn't going anywhere the rest of the hand not matter what you did, and it was just unlucky that he hit again on the river.

I agree with Anthony, this was a typical donkey call on the flop. Any decent player would know that five-handed, his 2 kicker was crap. For the record I think you played it perfectly, but sometimes you can't beat stupid.

I think this is the clear-cut winner for post of the month... and the month is only 11 hours old.
