Do u play them in both EP and LP?
Do you play them Early Tourny / Final Table?
Post flop what do u need to see to stick with the hand? top pair? two pair? 4/5 open ended? gut shot?

Nick I use suited connectors multiple ways in all positions.. But when I decide to use them depends on many factors including table image, stack size vs blinds vs players remaining, type of event and so on. I guess I am saying their is no one way to answer this question. Some people are great preflop, others are better post flop, some like ABC poker while others like to play lag. My advice would be to remain playing ABC poker until you can afford to climb out of the $1 45s because it is pointless to play anything else since most players at that level don't care what you may have, they just play the two cards dealt to them.

Suited connectors are way better in cash games than in mtts, and I think this is confusing for a lot of mtt noobs who try to play their same game.
My advice is to only play the suited connectors when the situation is textbook perfect. Multi way pot, late position, small % of stack. It's important that you have position because you really want to be able to control the size of the pot as much as possible with these hands. Small when you are drawing, big when you hit. Semi bluff selectively.
This of course depends on the style of the player.
In late game mtts I usually open most suited connectors if it's not early position (I would estimate I open 10Js utg about 25% of the time, if I got the stack for some play in late stages of an mtt). Many professionals also open tons of pots with medium holdings such as suited connectors if the situation is right for it.
I agree with Sterling that most beginners/loosing/break even players should stay away from these kind of hands if its not a "textbook situation". These types of holding will get you into difficult situations postflopp if you flopp semi-good (second pair no kicker etc.) or a draw.
Stay ahead, or fall behind
