W.S.O.P. Main Event - 100/200 blinds - I have ~ 12,000 chips and my opponent has ~ 20,000. I've won three pots in a row now and my confidence is growing even though I still only have ~ 60% of my starting stack. Three in a row meaning I won the last three that I played...
Anyways, I raised to 600 from middle position with. My opponent directly to my left called. He was Charlton-like, in that when he sensed weakness he would usually pounce pretty hard. He was Scandinavian, which is not Charlton-like.
Anyways, there were 1,500 chips in the pot when the flop came:
I led out for 900 and he called. There were now 3,300 chips in the pot. The river was a blank and I checked, trying to keep the pot size under control. The river was another blank, and I felt like I was still ahead. I had a feeling my opponent was going to put a large raise in and try to steal the pot from me if I bet, so I decided to check-call or possibly check-raise. But then he surprised me by overbetting the pot. He bet 3,550, so now it was 3,550 to me for a pot of 6,850.
What would you put my opponent on here? And what would you do on the river?
