Cash players....please help me, I got myself into a bad situation in my most recent session, and I'm questioning whether I may not be making the proper adjustments from tourney to cash.
Stakes : $1-$2
Hand folds to the hijack who raises to $12. Cutoff flats the $12, and I am on the button and look down at
Stack sizes:
Hijack roughly $200
Cutoff roughly $95
Me roughly $140
I really had not been playing very aggressively to this point....and 3 betting really hasn't happened all that much at this table.
With that said....I really dont like playing AQ multiway to a raise with below a starting buyin...so I decide to throw a 3 bet out there to $32. I figure I'm gonna get credit for a big hand, and take this down right now, and I'm good with that, or if I get called I can check out of this hand and not worrying about stacking off with AQ.
Well.....original raiser folds, and the shorter stack shoves....so it is like 60 to win 120 back to me. I calculate that I'm getting just over 2-1, so as soon as I figure that out, i instacall. (Not that I am in love with my hand, but geting 2-1, I cant justify a fold)
Guy shows KK, and wins.
Now....basically I priced myself into playing a big pot with AQ, when that was exactly the opposite thing I wanted to have happen, so I ask....am I incorrect to 3bet in this spot?? I really did not even think that the cutoff was capable or that there was any advantage to him slow playing two kings in this spot.....so I assume i was just an innocent casulty of him trying to trap the original raiser.....
Thoughts? And try to not be results oriented!!
