    2 pair on the river

This may look like a bit of a strange hand but there is history between me and my aggresive opponent. I have got involved with J7 for a reason. My opponent defends her BB every time, especially against me (button). There is now a history of me limping into her BB and her raising to $2 EVERY rotation unless someone else has raised, which is rare. She doesnt only defend pre flop she fights me hard after the flop be it with air or a made hand. I have to keep up our "game" because if I hit in this situation She is a little too aggresive for Her own good and there will be a big pot even if She only holds mid pair. She is one of the better players at these stakes (she knows where the raise button is) but as stated leaves herself too open.

    $50nl 6 seat cash table

    Opponent $117
    Me $98

Action folds to my button and I call with
    BB raises $2
    I call $2
    Pot is $4.50

    Flop comes
    BB bets out $4.50
This is no surprise it happens a lot
I call $4.50, (I intend to take this pot on the turn)
    Pot is $13.50

    Turn comes
    BB bets out $4.50 again
I raise to $12.50 (I was doing that anyway but now the bet is a value bet.)
    BB calls
    Pot is $38.50

River comes giving me 2 pair but putting a VERY obvious straight on the board

    BB bets out $25.........

I would be very interested in any comments on any street as to how I played this hand, as She ALWAYS defends should I stop pushing her so hard and NOT limp to Her EVERY time? Is floating the flop (with a draw) burning money planned move on turn or not? Also do you call this big river bet? I did.

Given the pot size on the flop and the size of villains flop bet, it looks to me as attempt to see a cheap turn with some sort of drawing hand, I like the reraise, the river and villains apparent value bet have to set the alarm bell ringing, why do you float the flop if your not going to make a move on another street? ( I dont mind the float, given your read on villain). Id be so tempted to call given all the info you have given us and given that she leads out on the flop on a board where a 10 does not fit into the story she is trying to sell you (most times anyway :-) ) on the flop I call!!

Folding you SB on the odd occasion may have the effect that you have perhaps tightened up your opening range and allow you to throw the odd curve ball later on.

My "poor" team is making a very steady comeback, consistently taking points from the bulk of my opponents each week, come Christmas I will be second with less than a 15 point gap from top. (you will be 3rd).

I feel like JT, T9, T8, KT, and maybe QT are all in our villains range here. Also, depending on the villains bluffing frequency, a lot of diamonds are in his range. I don't think he shows up with a set here and I'm not giving anybody at this level credit for valuebetting top 2 pair here or turning a worse 2 pair into a bluff. Maybe he can turn a 1 pair hand into a bluff on the river. That's the range I'm giving him and I think I fold here even though i expect to be folding the winner a decent % of the time. From your description of the villian it seems kinda close though.

My opponent turned over exactly (well done) and took down a big pot (considering starting hands) with the made straight. I felt a little hard done by because other way round I think I win a similar size pot. Our little limp, raise, call game continued for a while and I won a little back. My opponent was a decent player but didnt seem to realise every time we played our "game" I was in position. Maybee she did realise and just thought I will outplay him oop ANYWAY, lol. Thanks both for great replys.
