    Live hero calling to raising

Lately my hero calls have been on the money. Some pretty ridiculous calls with terrible pot odds because I was positive I was good. Ex- A4 on q36,4,7 board. Pot sized river bet, a4 is good. 99 on 1082(all heart), 3 non heart, 4 non heart --- call and 99 is good to a large pot sized river bet.

The past few sessions I have made 5 or 6 amazing, imo, hero calls to fairly decent river bets....... I was very very very confident I was good.

So my question is - How often should I be raising these hands when Im very sure Im good. The reason being, in a game with 1 or 2 very competent players they will easily pick up on the reasons for my hero calls (overbet river bluffs, weird lines, missed draws)

Im not making hero calls very often, only when Im extremely sure Im good.

How often should I be raising these situations to avoid showing down my hand (to avoid someone else punishing me thinking Ill call light on a weird line, etc)

In short - raising obv river bluffs to avoid showing my hand???????????????

I think his reasoning is why risk more money on hands as lousy as you have described. Unless you are absolutely sure you have the winning hand, dont risk more money on bad hands. The first time you reraise and get called or shoved on, you are going to feel sick for losing so much on a hand like a pair of 4's.

You don't bet rivers to make worse hands fold.
