Dont do this....
Hollywood is getting a little strict on a couple of things.
1. Forward motion is back. Make sure to ask the dealer to explain forward motion in their words. Dont be suprised if multiple dealers give you multiple responses.
2. Dont muck your hand. I saw a hand in 2-5 where a reg showed the Qh with a 4 heart board. He actually turned both cards over but placed the Qh directly on top of the other. The other player tabled both of his cards and the dealer pushed him the pot. The floor was called and the ruling was upheld. The floor stated that it was the players responsibility to make both of his cards visible to the dealer. Not the dealers.

Easy way to stay in line with the forward motion rule at just about any casino is to cap your cards and slide them forward a bit. That way you have room to count and stack behind your cards. Most rooms will not consider it a bet until you have moved your chips beyond your cards.
On #2. ..... officially a dealer is not to spread a players cards so they are visible nor turn them over or even suggest it.
