Well for one this is Grove Tucky not Alantic City , BIG difference. Even in Alantic city they dont rake from every players stack they only rake the winners pot and for free food, poker players aint broke looking for a free meal. If we are hungry we can easily order pizza or any other kind of food out there. Also your kitchen is closed after 11:00 every night so the late players get what??? FREE DRINKS, so not worth it. Also most of the new dealers there are horrible most of the time you can barely see 8 to 14 hand per half hour. That means if your short stacked you have to chase your cards. So with that being said platinum rakes from every players stack every half hour which is totally illegal here in Ohio. Best wishes

Its worth it if you stop in every day and eat lunch and dinner in there. They never said you have to play to get free food . Just get there before 11 pm cause the kitchen closes then after that you have to pay for waffle house.

Lol that most people play for an hour or two... That's funny, I rarely see people play for an hour or two.

You also need to realize that every 30 min you pull 30+ off the table, so 60+ per hour. After 4 hours that's a stack removed from the table. Not only are you pulling $ out of profitable players stacks you are taking away even more $ they will eventually win.

This is why 1 2 struggles in casinos because the rake kills a game too much.

This is the dumbest system I have ever heard of. Even with the 4 hour roundtrip drive +rake hollywood is still a ton more profitable, not matter how soft this game is. At least stacks are growing therefore more $ to be won. I don't think you realize how much $ you are costing winning player (not just 4/ 30 min) and without a steady flow of winning players you won't last. Who cares about free food tho. Wendys is 5$

Who is running this place anyways? I just really can't wait for the casinos to arrive. Gemini will be the only one to survive....

At a full table they pull $40 a half that $80 an hour. So after 10 hours thats $800 off the table plus whatever the players tip the dealers out of thier stacks. So go figure thats at least a $1000 off the table in 10 hours. At Gemini or Stringtown the only money off the table is the dealers tips.

At Gemini (can't speak for Stringtown) dealers' tips don't come out of the stacks, so it doesn't come off the table.

A casino isnt cheaper, but not by much. You're right. But I mean seriously... Potter where are you gonna make more money, with longer sessions, with the game selection, etc, etc, etc???

The point is why on earth would anyone in columbus go to Platinum with this stupid rake thing when they have 10 other better NO RAKE options available? Id take Stringtown anyday over this stupid system. And Hollywood easily over it, even with the drive.

The point of poker for a lot of people is to make money... The one's who play for entertainment WILL NOT PLAY FOR LONG. So when you are cutting into the winning players profits with an obviously flawed way of running a business, when in fact, there are/have been 5+ places running for years that have a solid proven system, you arent gonna survive.

I mean run the business as you see fit, but when you have a bunch of people who have been regulars playing in cbus for years, that have played everywhere and won, telling you its a stupid way to run a poker room Id probably listen to them.

Also another point... Im not sure if this is illegal or not - but I would guess this would be interpreted as a rake, therefore shut down at some point. It figures that at some point some idiot would mess with a proven way to run a poker room JEOPARDIZING all the other ones running. I dont really care either way, besides Gemini, they all will be out of business in a few years but use some common sense.

The majority of the time we spread $1/$2 No Limit, these games usually start around 8:00PM.

Thursday nights we spread a $1/$3 No Limit Minimum buy-in $500 Maximum buy-in $1000, this game usually gets off about 8:30PM or so.

On Wednesday night we spread $3/$6 Limit HORSE, this game usually gets off at about 8:00PM.

We'll spread any game that we have 4-5 players interested in.

I've been looking for someplace to play, but the $25 sit fees (added on to the "dues") has turned me away. If you guys are doing $10 that would be a lot more appealing.

How do the Fridays usually layout in terms of ring games/tourneys? That's a day I generally have pretty free.
