Campus Card Club vs. Platinum Players Club?

Can anyone give some reviews about these clubs, as compared to each other? Specifically, info about the cash games (how often they get off, good nights to go, general player skill/style)?

I'll probably check them both out, but don't want to go to one on a Wednesday if it's the slowest night there, but the busiest at the other.

    Thanks!

    Any two cards...

I doubt campus is even open anymore. Platinum was really nice, but they rake.

Campus is still open. I haven't been there in months though.

no pots are raked but there is a $4 seat fee for the no limit games for every half hour. you pay when the dealers switch. We get a game off every night but sometimes during the week its only limit games. Mon and Tue are normally lower limit games. lately its been $3/$6 with a kill. Wed. is $10/$20 limit. that normally gets going at 2pm and was still running when I left there an hour ago. Thur. Pot Limit Omaha and no limit. Fri, Sat and Sun are all good days for no limit cash action.

Campus is still open. John from Eastside and Stringtown either owns it or is running it, not sure which. I get a text from him almost every night that they have a game.

Everytime I went to campus in the past it was always closed. Seems to have something going, but still havent managed to go there.

they might not rake the pots but they rake your chips stacks every half hour. Same thing, know matter how you look at it. If your a grinder and sit at platinum for longer than 3 hours, your paying well over what you could have paid at Gemini. Best price for you money is at Stringtown $15.00 for a day. There you can use the restroom without being in a hurry. Also you can smoke a cig without having to pay for it . NO half hour RAKE there. Also the owners at PlATINUM IS ONE OF THE RUDIEST PEOPLE i HAVE EVERY MET. The one who looks like Raymer Is a total prick . Every time I have see him he is drunk and rude. Not a good way of running a business.

I agree with the rake. To be fair you do get free food as you play. But I don't really want that benefit. If I want food, I'd rather just go out and get some from a restaurant. And since I put in 14 hour sessions a lot, it would suck to be paying $56 when I could be paying $25 or less elsewhere. That's why I thought it would be a good idea for platinum to offer a $25 all day pass.

Fear, many suggestiong have been made as a way to reduce the impact of their fee. As far as I know they are mulling over several options but I have no idea what their decision will be.

Better work on your math, Fear. It's $4/half-hour, so for a 14 hour session, you would pay $112 vs. $25 or less.

I assume (as in most casinos) they take $4 from your stack even if you're not there.

$4 / half hour is cheaper than any casino. It's cheaper than the Borgata, the Bellagio, The Commerce, or Foxwoods. AND, we give free food -- full kitchen with sandwiches and pizza. It's also cheaper than any of the charity games where they rake each pot, sometimes even when there is no flop.

Moreover, the average player plays for an hour or two. An hour and a half of play at our club costs you $8. So, for many people it's cheaper to play at our place.

That said, if you are a professional player and you want to put in a 14 hour session and you don't think that the amenities we offer are worth the price, then by all means, choose somewhere else to play.
