1/2 or 2/5

With about a 2k bankroll since I got frustrated by my online beats and I cashed out some, should I play 1/2 nolimit or 2/5 no limit. The rake 10% up to 5 bucks with a $1 bad beat. I have played in 2/5 before and I think I am comfortable with the stake but 4 buy ins is not very many.

What is the best balance for my bankroll? Balancing the rake and the buy in. I probably only have about 40hours of live cash experince (i guess that counts online too since i play sngs) and I am not sure how much the rake will eat up the 1/2 game.

its live cash tho lol. you sit around with your stack, eat free food, pick up AA and go all in. weeee

if you are worried and thinking about losing $ from rake, just bet 5$ more on your river bets when you want a call.

I am a live action player. The only reason I play online is for the tourneys. I stick to lower limits online simply b/c I feel I do well enough, but tourneys are not really my thing; plus I only play for 1st place anyways and that is how you cash big in low limit tourneys.

As for playing cash games. I play at just about every club in Columbus. I built nearly a 10k bankroll playing 1-2nl and 10-20 limit. Rake is not really a concern that I factor in. I still play mostly 1-2nl simply b/c it is as soft as a baby's ass. With only 2k to start on, I would recommend playing 1-2nl until you have around 4k-5k. If you buy in for the max in a 2-5nl game (which you should) you'll be using 25% of you roll. That's simply not a good idea. I would say stick to 1-2nl especially in a casino, b/c more sharks sit the 2-5nl games. Also, people who play the 1-2nl in casinos normally only buy in for $100 and are afraid to lose. They will play tight and don't be afraid to put your stack at risk at all cost, b/c chances are they are afraid to lose money. Play the 1-2nl game very aggro and don't drop more than $400 into a game. It is too hard to gain back, simply b/c there is not enough on the table, and the players are tight. Play until you're up anywhere between $200 and $300, then cash out. That's how built my roll, just a few hundo at a time.

Just don't get like me and take $7k to Vegas and donate it to the 30-60 limit game at the Bellagio. Talk about downsizing.

just pm me with questions. its definitely a grind you will need to prepare yourself for. 1/2 is more of a gambling roller coaster than anything. just put your money in good and hope for the best. nothing but locks.

1/2 for sure IMO. 5K should be the first time you consider 2/5, unless you don't mind the chance of going broke.
