    UKIPT Manchester

Im kinda curious if there were any others of you guys who played the UKIPT in Manchester which recently completed.
And yes you can congratulate me on my 9th place, yes i suck. FML i run so horrible on big live final tables, this was the 3rd final table with the chance to win a decent cash (100k€, 96k€, and now 63k pounds) ..dont need to tell you that i busted in all between 6-9th. have pity on me
Anyways, let me hear some comments on that hand on the final table which i played: i got AA utg+1 blinds 10k/20k (1mil stack)i raise to 47k, a decent player, but pretty agressive (michael hill) flat called from the cut off all others folded. Board is 34T with 2 diamonds. He had about 700k effective stack. I decided to c/r tried to let my hand look like a draw. And he actually was that guy who would bet IP with a very wide range, saw him raising many cbets, overbeting pots stuff like that. Unfortunatly he cb that flop. Turn was a 9, flush didnt complete. I bet 82k on the turn and he raised my bet to 185k. i tanked a little and decided to shove. Of couuurse he snapped my shove with pocket nines FML again.. According to the stack sizes and raising size, how could i play that hand differently. I mean b/c the turn and call another safe river ? My hand looked pretty weak so hes probably raising a lot of turns there, QJ, fd - a pair.. He wasnt nitty at all, so pure bluffs are possible as well. I still got him covered and had about 13bb left when i shoved KQ to a cut off open raise and obv busted against AT.. Kinda annoying being 2nd chipleader on the final table for a little while and busto on 9th -.- I got amazing 3,6k pounds ...

Looking forward to more live events, try to pause online poker for awhile and play more live - its just way more profitable imo, and easy to play on a good tournament structure like it was in manchester.

    gl to all..

And thats the pro owning the others (me obv) ..btw i busted vicky coren

What is your image at the table? Cuz i dont like check/shoving the flop from UTG+1. Even if he puts you on a draw, you're hoping for a hero call from Tx a midpair or a flush draw. I think Id lead out 3/4 the pot and hope he floats you, raises light, or calls w less. At that point itd just be a sick turn that he hit the 2 outter.

Im just trying to understand the play... what would you hope to get called by thats in his range w a check/shove?

-im trying to learn here, not knock your play

yea sure, i appreciate every critique on my play. My image was kinda loose/agressive i guess.. There were like 3 nits on the table so i opened a wide range. I already 4bet shoved him pre, thats probably why he checked behind the flop. I wouldnt check/shove that flop, but actually planed on c/r him and let him space to reshove me. He also could have flatted jacks / maybe queens or kings for squeeze induce. I definitly agree with 3/4 pot cbeting but against him i thought it wouldnt be a bad spot for let him bet. That turn shove was more like a protection shove, i dont see many hands except 99 obv, who cb that flop.

Great explanation I def like c/r so he'd shove much better given your description of the hand.
