    Lima Results.

So, I made the trip north and arrived in Lima about 11:30. I registered and hung out scoping out the competition. I was happy to see alot of the same people I see at all the other tourneys and the boats. I was pumped and ready to take this thing down. Somwhere around 12:30 or 12:45 I see a group come in. They all stand around talking and I recognize a couple of them from their avatars here in the forum. I think about introducing myself, but decide to wait untill the tourney is under way and see if any are at my table. None were. I then spent the next 5 hours staring at, and folding rags. I have never been so card dead in my life. It was brutal. I do my best to make a few timely bluffs and pick up a few small pots but I just couldnt get anything going. I missed my opportunity to triple up, even though I think I made the right play it still sucked. Finally with blinds at 500/1000 I decide i am going to either double up or go home. I have 16,000 in chips and start making my move. I pick up A-10s in the small blind and it folds to me. I decide to see a flop and just call. Big blind raises to 4000. I think hes full of it so I move in. He calls with Jacks and they hold up and im ridin the rail. So I bypassed the cash games, didnt introduce myself to any bad beats, and instead I went to Red lobster and ate 3 pounds of crab legs because thats what I do to mourn such a miserable day. Hopefully some of you had a better result.

Oh Mike! You should have come over and introduced yourself.

The Bad Beats were involved in a "Last In" bet too, but the best part is the support that we give each other during the tourney. We constantly check in and give advice or the shoulder to cry on.

And just so you know.... 5 of us were in the 2nd chance tourney at 7p. If that tells you how we played!!

However, when I busted out of the 2nd tourney of the day, and left (about 10p), we still had 2 Bad Beaters in the Main Event. They were down to 4 tables, so we're hopeful that one or both make it to money.

Sorry that you didn't feel comfortable joining us. But I know we made quite the spectacle as we all walked in as a group. Stacey and I may have even been shouting out "Bad Beats in Da House!!"

Next time.... Don't be shy! Okay?

Sorry I didn't get to meet you Mike.

I played poorly myself, and could never seem to find my groove.

On the very first hand I played, my pocket kings ran into a flopped set of eights. I got away, but not before losing 20% of my chips. On the second hand I played, my pocket aces ran into a flopped flush. Again I managed to get away, but this time I lost another 30% of my chips. Then I laid down pocket jacks to pocket aces. It just kept going like this until my 30,000 chips had become 7,000.

Eventually I managed to double up with A-K versus pocket jacks, then stole a few pots. In all, it took me more than five hours to get back to the 30,000 chips we started with.

I finally got up to 51,000 chips after I checked a full house on the turn and got my opponent to call a value bet on the river. But my confidence just wasn't there, and it only took me a few minutes to squander those chips.

I saw that several others were starting the 'second chance' tournament so I re-raised all-in with pocket twos figuring it would be more fun to start over. I got called by A-Q and moved to the other tournament when an ace flopped.

I was really playing poorly by this point, and managed to lose 70% of chips within five minutes. Definite tilt.

Yes, sir-- Table 8, Seat 3. Were you at my table?

The Bad Beats were well distributed at the beginning. I think this is close:

    Dave Nutini - Table 2
    Chuck Colbert - Table 4
    Pat Sauers - Table 6
    Brian Ursell - Table 9
Scott Cook and Don Landers - Table 11
George Wolfe and Bill Bell - Table 13
Stacey Nutini and Chad Weese - Table 14

I'm not sure where Derek or the Erminator or Scott P started, but they all contributed to our Last In pool.

It was a great time, but somehow as the 2nd Chance tourney was getting ready to start, several of us (not just you, Scott) decided that we'd rather be in that game with all our friends!

Now I prefer to think that I was showing true Bad Beats Support, not making a completely idiotic move and losing $71k in one hand by overplaying

We were at the 1200/2400/200 and Scott, Bill B. and I all dropped within minutes of each other. All sitting there with 20 or more big blinds.... then OUT.

    That's Support!! Right, Guys?

Dana - wow, did you go around and write all that down at the beginning?
You just earned yourself BadBeatsPoker secretary You were very well organized and thank you for setting up the Last Longer bet. I bubbled it, as I was the last one of us in with Cheith, and he just stopped by the house a couple hours ago on the way back up to play the ending.

Too bad for Pat he never got into the bet!

I was at table 7 and I thought you were part of the group as I saw you taking notes and people were coming over to you periodically. I was sitting there when you turned and commited to the guy that brought his own chair.
