    Open shove nuts on river

Hey, this is from Cake, these hand histories are hard to read but basically I bet the pot on the turn when I hit the nuts.

He called pretty fast so I figured my best move was to open shove on the river...

By the way thi game is 50nl... lol

It's a sign that you are playing against opponents who continually take the worst of it, and if you can't beat someone who always takes the worst of it, you can't beat anyone"

WOW, cant believe he called that with no money in pot, set or no set. Sometimes this is a bad move I lost a good value bet the other day pushing the remainding $60 into a pot of $40 with my 4 of a kind 2s, I had put my opponent on AA. He would have definitly called $25 - $30 as he used all his accrued time on not calling the all in. At the same time though the money you just made making this move makes an argument if you just kept pushing instead of betting the pot would you make more money in the long run? Maybee you would. By the way how come the drop in level?

I think there is definite reasons to justify open shoving (with the nuts, or close to it) in many situations.

There are a lot of players that will call a shove on the river just about as likely as any other bet. Furthermore, the EV calculations (call $100 10% of the time = call $10 100% of the time) pretty much prove the theory.

I staked my roommate Dirt (aka just let him use my acct, shhhhhh) on my Cake account for a few months. He started out doing awesome I had run 1000 up to 2400 and he ran it up to 3200. When I moved out my account had been dumped to about 700 after a huge rakeback payment so I will be back at 50nl for a while on Cake. I keep separate, unbalanced bankrolls at each site. I think I am at about 1100 now so it is a slow process.

Ive reached $1400 on Carbon now, shouldnt be too long before I make the jump. I saw a very good sign the other day, some of the players I beat now are also playing the 100nl. But on the bad side I asked a good player who had been on a bad run and dropped to 50nl and he said it was much tougher. As for the push theory I think you are correct but I think only poorer players are going to make the calls.
