Winning sng players, losing mtt players

The more I look players up the more I notice this trend...

Is this variance or are sngs just easier to beat. Personally I find them about the same. Opinions?

I think this is because Mtts are so damn top heavy...

top 3 places are where all the money is and with 1000+ player fields its a high varriance route to the final table...

last night I took 17th in the 35k a $26 buyin and only made $140sumthin.. that not even profiting 5 buyins after lasting longer than over 1500 others...

without the big wins its impossible to stay profitable in mtts

I do agree. But Ive never had a big win on ft and still manage to be profitable in mtts. Ive had quite a few mtt wins but they are always the stupid late night 200 ppl mtt, maybe this has kept me profitable tho.

Seems like variance isnt the case for a lot of people tho

Mtts and sngs are completely different. Being good at sngs does not mean you will have success in mtts. I can go into robot mode in sngs and still mOe a profit, if I try that in mtts I will be a big time loser.

As stated before, the variance in mtts is sick. Even just making it tithe final table isn't good enough. You need to be top 3 to really be making money. Also, the sngs players u speak of might not have put in the volume in mtts yet. This is probably a huge factor. It's easy to sit and play 50 sngs a day. Try doing 50 mtts a day haha.

But again to answer ur question. They r two completely different games. No sngs offer u The kind of deepstack play mtts offer.

Yes, of course. Don't you think this is kind a silly question?

Of course someone can suck at MTTS despite winning at SNGs.

That said, I think that many of the SNG winners who struggle at MTTs might just be experience variance.

I can think of at least three members of this forum right off the bat who have huge disparities between their SNG stats and MTT stats.

The most stark differential is probably that of DefyOddz. Check his OPR and SNG and MTT.

    Two possibilities:
    1) He sucks at MTT for some reason even though he excels in SNGs
    2) He is experiencing bad variance at MTT.

Either way, I see little point to this thread.
