LOL! It wasn't so much making sure I had the Royal as much as it was worrying about what to do when someone bets the pot into you when you flop it!!
I thought about raising, because if the guy had top pair, or two pair, I didnt want another heart to drop off or a straight card and ruin my action.....but I ended up calling because Stacey yelled at me and told me to just call....and I was too flustered to do anything else.....and more honestly, my knee jerk reaction when Stacey yells is to just do what she says, LOL
The 9 came off on the turn, and I was pissed because that wasnt a good card....but he bet again, and I shoved, and he called with JQ....WEEEEEEEEE!
But of course even though I was in the Top 30 with about 200 left, two hands spelled my demise......there's always something.
I raised an EP limper (he limped with garbage all the time, and played rather passive after the flop) with QJs in late position.....blinds folded and he smooth called. Flop was 8-5-3 rainbow, and he checked. I bet 4000 (2/3 pot bet) and got smooth called. We both checked the turn....an ace came on the end, and he shoved all in....I folded of course. He said he had flopped a set.
Then with about 20BB and just on the cash bubble, I raised in EP with JJ....small stack shoves for about 8BB total.....I call and he has QQ....I lose that and all of a sudden, I'm the shorty. I end up shoving in late position with A9s, got looked up by 66, and game over.
I finished somewhere around late 90's or early 100's
