    Lightbulb 2009 Poker Goals

Does anyone have some 2009 poker goals set that they would like to share?

I'm a big believer that we're much more likely to achieve our goals if we make them public.

So I'll start by posting my own 2009 poker goals:

    1. Provide a first class forum for this poker community.

    2. Co-host an excellent local poker league.

    3. Earn at least $100,000 in profit playing online poker tournaments. My target will be 222 games per month @ $75 ABI @ 50% ROI.

    4. Beat my previous best lifetime cash of $14,137 in a major tournament.

    5. Become competent in at least two other forms of poker (most likely Omaha High and one other game).

All right Scott. My goal in tourney's is to meet the 100K mark for 2009. I want to be able to take everything I have learned from all the wonderful people I know and have encountered in, not only the poker world but from the normal everyday world, and put the thoughts, ideas and theories to good use. I would also like to see everyone have a great and blessed holiday season and I hope 2009 is a wonderful year for everyone

Merry Christmas and/or Happy Hanukkah everyone,

    Kelley

You beat me to it sandy cheeks. My goal is to stick to poker and walk away from this year up 100 000. Actually stay dedicated and put in my hours every week. Should be tough, but I think averaging 8333 a month is pretty reasonable

To continue to improve my game through practice and education.

Finish in the top five or better for the season in the next Dublin Poker League. Hopefully this league does start up.

    1) I'll avoid throwing an actual dollar amount out there, but I'd like to see my bankroll get to a point where I can actively seek out more higher stakes NL and PLO ring games like $5/$10. To follow my bankroll guidelines I'd have to increase my bankroll by roughly 30% from todays level.

    2) With Dana's help, of course, I'd like to defend our title in the Couples event at the Midwest Regional Poker Championships at Horseshoe Southern Indiana in February.

    3) I'd like to continue to grow my tournament skills and become a more profitable tournament player.

    4) I'd like to play in an event or two in this year's WSOP while adhering to my bankroll rules and not affecting the level of cash games my bankroll will support.

    5) I would like to get Scott Cook to join me for a string of live cash games where I truly feel he could be a beast and make a killing at a higher rate than he already is.

    6) And of course, I would like to elevate two more players to join Dana in "owned by Ryan" status, Scott Cook and otbdave(if we could get him off the computer to some more live games!!).

these are so hard because i dont like $ goals and i am not sure how much poker i will be playing next year... ill cop out and keep them general

    1) game select better
    2) tilt less
    3) study my opponents more
    4) eliminate leaks
    5) be more patient

edit: 100k in cash games sounds like a nice figure to shoot for as well =)

My poker year doesnt finish till Febuary is over so no presure on me yet. But next year I want to continue to focus on cash games and a realistic target for me to hit is +$10,000. By the end of the year I would like to be playing at least $200nl and I hope I can learn to play more tables. Very comfertable at 2 right now, by the end of next year I would like to be this comfertable playing 4. I am also going to learn how to play Omaha.

Last year my only poker goal was to make double what I made in 2007, and with 2009 around the corner it looks like I more than exceeded my goal (barring something absolutely SICK happening between now and the end of the year).

As far as 2009 goes here is what I would like to accomplish.

    1. Make $60,000 playing live cash games
    2. Make $20,000 playing live tournaments
    3. Make $10,000 playing online tournaments ( I don't plan on playing much online in 2009, mainly live)
    4. Also I would like to save up a big enough bankroll to rent a condo in Vegas for a month once I turn 21 (August 3rd). The plan would be to stay and play out there for at LEAST one month.
