    So I'm going to Vegas...

My fiancee and I are getting Married October 2nd and for our Honeymoon we have decided to take our 1st trip ever to Las Vegas.

I know it's still a couple months away but I was hoping to get advice from the seasoned Vegas visitors here on places to go, eat, gamble, and of course play poker.

We will be leaving Saturday October 3rd and coming back on Thursday October 8th.

My poker background isn't monstrous or anything, I know how to play and am comfortable playing either cash games or tournaments. Anyone who hangs out at CSC has probably seen me there. I've also spent my fair share of time at the Gemini.

So far I've been told I must play poker at the Venetian.

So, all you Vegas experts; tips, advice, places I just can't not go to? Hit me!

    Thanks in advance,
    John

How old are you and your wife? I mean, what age range of folks would you prefer to be surrounded by? What do you like to do? Do you want to see shows?

I'm a tourist in Vegas, but im also a degenerate, so I see a lot of it, lol.

I like the circle bar in the hard rock as a nightly hang out. It is a nice place with minimal douche bags. Stop in the Encore at least once and see what it looks like to spend waaaaaay too much money on absolutely everything in a hotel. Las Vegas Poker Tournament Schedule Daily Tournaments List Listing that is a link to a tournament schedule if you feel like tourney poker, and even Konscious could find a decent cash game in Las Vegas. If you are going to see a show, it is worth the extra money to not see one of the stupid ones and get to a Cirque show (O would be best for most, Zumanity was a bit sexually intense but awesome as well), IMO, but I haven't seen all the shows and I'm sure theres some diamonds in the inexpensive rough here and there. Rio has a nice casino to check out as well as poker room, and there are shows in the sky a few times a day. I'll come back and post more gotta run for now... Have fun my friend

I wouldnt go to the Venetian if you are looking for a soft cash game. IMO, 5 star casinos attract more 5 star players. You'll find more 2 star players at 2 star casinos.

Tournament play is differrent. The bigger casinos have better games.

Being from Vegas I really feel I can help you out here.

    Poker related anyway.

Cash games are pretty week in the following

    Flamingo, Bally's, Treasure Island, PH.

Bellagio, MGM, and all the station Casino's have very beatable games you just have to watch out for the few sharks that hang out there.

If your wanting to play late night than there is no place better than Osea's there table is right on the sidewalk of the strip so drunk people are like I saw this on tv once throw 50 go all in and leave. very profitable.

For tournamnets the best places to go is Ceaers's Palace. Also The Red Rock Casino which is a ways away fromt he strip has good players that make tournament play not as... bad beat friendly I suppose.

As for your room it's your Honeymoon splurge a bit and get a nice suit since you won't be leaving it to much anyway.

My fiancee is 24 and I am 25. We already have a suite booked at the Luxor, but in the tower as I was told not to stay in the pyramid.

She is a huge Cirque fan which is one of the reasons we're going to Vegas. I've already bought tickets for KA, and Mystere. I play on buying tickets as well for Zumanity.

Thanks for all the advice so far. Wilbur maybe we'll have to meet up and have a drink while I'm there!

I myself like to get off of the strip and explore - by horseback or by foot. Lots to see & do.

KA is awesome - enjoy your trip and congrats!
