    JEFFREY 1ST CASINO VISIT

$1/$3 no limit hold em was the only thing available before my tournament started so i decided wth time to put my skills to test so i sat with $100 dollars and was so happy to be around actual players with a dealer and chips . for the first time ever. Well was pretty card dead for a while till i get AK from teh bb it was folded all teh way to the sb which raises 6dollars i repop to 20 bucks he insta calls board comes we both check turn brings a nother i bet 20 dollars he calls uggggh.... river

i had about 15or so and i decided what the hell im all in he calls i flip over AK he says you got it and is about to throw his hand away when i guess i do perhaps the biggest mistake of my life i pick up my hand and flip it down and the dealer goes WHAT ARE YOU DOIN YOU CANT DO THAT .... i mean i have no clue what i did wrong and the dealer is screaming at me he told me that cuz i did that my hand will be declared dead..... i responded quickly by sayin im sorry is my first time playing at a casino which is true and i apologize to teh guy next to me and he understood and was okay with me taking down the hand.... but the dealer went off on me talking about he could get fired if he lets me win the hand i quickly apologize once again and told him i didnt mean no harm ... luckly a guy with a suit came to the table and asked what happen which i was surprised the guy that lost almost 100dollars stood up for me and said that i made a small mistake and i had the best hand anyways and he allowed me to win teh hand... i felt so embarrassed and wanted to duck my head under the table for my stupid mistake honestly i didnt know. I was nervous and scared after tat i decided to leave couple hands after that and come back when my tournament started

He he . . . Well Played Rookie!!!

J/K . . . I'm sure we all have a story like this related to our first "Casino" game . . . It's thrilling and nervewracking at the same time which is what makes it so memorable.

How'd you do in the tourney??

See You On The Other Side,

You'll have to get Chad to post about my first poker game. I limped UTG, then after several other limpers, I put my hand up and announced that I wanted to check-raise.

Not my first time but in a 4-8 I did the same as you Scott, but a little different. I was sitting down and posted and got dealt k5, a bunch of limpers no raise. Flop k-5-5, check to me I bet, a few callers, folded back around and before the dealer can put up the turn I say reraise. The table laughs, turn irrelevant, I bet out, snap folds by the table. You live and you learn...

Im glad Im not the only one!! :-)

String bets have been my major problem in my 4 live games, in all the excitement I tend to not announce my intended betting action and let everyone in the pot cheap or fold knowing that I am intending to raise but can only call!!

I have done a similar thing as Jeffrey as well, the first occassion I 3bet with KK in middle position and then get chatting to a rather nice girl on my right and miss a 4bet by a little asian girl hidden behind the chunky dealer, having thought I had won the pot I then flipped my KK over into the middle and dealer instantly declares my hand dead and the little asian girl flips QQ!! LOL

Next time I have QQ and raise from MP, then get involved in a chat with the guy on my left about my football team, miss read the action and then flip my QQ in the middle again, to a whoot of laughter, BB is still to act, on this occasion the dealer gave the BB the option to chose his action and he folded and I won the pot, Im not sure if this was a legitimate decision by the dealer but I wasn't arguing.

Hopefully at the London EPT meet at the end of September I wont make the same mistakes.

And I thought your story would be about the "I just can't do it" hand...
