Herschelw and Ghettofabolous' Live Poker Camp!!!

David "Ghettofabolous" Randall and I will be holding a two week in person poker camp in the Northeast Florida area Sept 18th through October 2nd. During this camp we'll spend time covering every key area of online mtt play. There will be plenty of classroom style concept lessons, you'll be able to ghost our sessions, we'll ghost your session(all sites except ftp), we'll have a ton of poker theory discussions etc. We'll basically be totally focused for two weeks on the camp participants personal poker development. During this camp participants will typically receive between 110-144 hours of coaching and poker instruction.

When: Sept 18th through October 2nd

(You must come for 7 days minimum and may stay up to 2 weeks.)

    Where: Northeast Florida

Below you will find a sample schedule of what a day at poker camp will be like:

    Day 1:
10am- 7pm Players arrive at pokercamp throughout the day

On day one you'll go through some key NL holdem courses in order to develop and/or refine your NL holdem skills. The courses that will be taught include:
7pm: Chipping up early in NL Holdem mtt's
8:15pm: Blind on Blind play in tournaments.
9:30pm: Short stack play.....Be the ninja!!!
10:45pm: Mid to late game strategy: Riding the big stack.
    Midnight: adjourn for the night

Note: if you've already taken these classes I have added some new elements and changed a bit of the advice to fit the changes in online play. Also, a refresher never hurt.

Day 2: Resources and Self analysis
During day two we'll show you the tools pros are using to analyze thier game and exploit leaks in thier opponents. We'll spend time learning how to use Holdem Manager/pokertracker effictively, including what different stats mean and how to use them to exploit your opponents in mtt play. After covering resources and self analysis we'll begin the process of going through one complete HH per student (that you choose and send me). We'll discuss the different hands and situations you encountered and explain how you could have played them most optimally. I'll also take time to give you a number of things to work on after we complete the HH review.

2pm-3pm Self analysis: The key to longevity in poker!
    15 min break
3:15pm-4:15pm How to use stat tracking software effectively(Pokertracker/Holdem Manager)
    15min break
    4:30pm-5:30pm Begin Personalized HH analysis
5:30-8pm Dinner and time for relaxation
8pm Camp participants begin an mtt session with instructors available to watch, dicusss, critique etc.

Day 3: Putting the pieces together
On day 3 you'll get the chance to see Ghettofab and I put together all of the things we've taught you so far into action and attempt to take down an mtt. This is a great opportunity for you to see how the pro's play first hand.

12:45pm til 3am+ Group sweat session

Day 4: Sng and HU play
On day 4 Ghettofab will be breaking down HU play. There's very little info out there on HU play for closing out mtt's and Ghettofab happens to be a very strong agressive HU player who has almost twice as many wins as 2nd place finishes playing some of the highest stakes online. In addition, I'm going to show you my unique style for HU play. Even if you are already very good HU, this will give you some ideas on how to approach it differently and switch gears HU.

    2pm-3pm Ghettofab teaches aggressive HU
    15 min break
3:15pm-3:45 Ghettofab plays HU live and explains his thought processes
3:45pm-4:45pm Herschelw teaches his unique HU strategy
    15min break
5pm-5:30pm Herschelw plays HU live and explains his thought processes
    5:30pm dinner + relaxation time
8pm Camp participants begin an mtt session with instructors available to watch, dicusss, critique etc.

Day 5: Day off to enjoy Northeast Florida

Day 6: Show us what you learned!

On day 6 everyone will play thier typical mtt session and attempt to implement the things that they have learned. During this session we will be available the entire time to answer questions and give you feedback on hands that you play. We will spend some time with each player watching thier tables and talking through hands and situations as much as possible. If one of our group members does end up getting deep in a tournament(as long as there is not another player still left in that tournament) we will actively coach them through the end of the tournament with everyone else listening on through skype.

8pm til finished- Group poker session with coaching

    Followup sessions:
Any time you learn a large amount of information in a short period of time, it takes time for you to experiment with what you've learned and adjust your game. Since we're truly commited to helping each of our students succeed in poker we've decided to add 6 monthly followup sessions after the camp concludes so that we can make sure that you're implementing the ideas you've learned correctly. During the Followup sessions each student should bring 5 individual hand histories of hands they have questions about and would like analyzed. During that session the rest of the group and we will discuss and break down the hands and provide feedback.

The dates of the followup sessions are:
    TBA

Note: The schedule is subject to change.

What you can expect from us:
    1. Typically between 110-144 hours of coaching, poker discussion etc over the course of the two week period.
    2. Our complete focus and attention during the camp.
    3. First class teaching.
    4. That we will truly care about helping you to improve at poker.

If you are selected you must agree to the following terms to participate in the camp:

    1. A one year commitment to play staked by Ghettofab and herschelw(and/or our repesctive funds at our discretion). We get first option on any and all of your action. If we can't or choose not to provide all of the necessary funds for you to play in mtt's we believe that you are capable of crushing then we will allow you to sell some of your action publicly. All of your action must be for the stakes we provide unless otherwise approved by Ghettofab or Hersch. If you have a current backing commitment we may be willing to work with you to figure out a way to make things work.
    2. High volume. You should be playing 4 to 6 days a week with multiple tournaments a night(not just one or two tournaments a night). For someone with GREAT stats we'd be open to making an exception to this rule.
    3. Multitabling. You should be able to comfortably multitable at least 3-4 tables.
    4. Follow bankroll guidelines that we set for you. We will set rules for the tournaments you play and the sites you play them on. If you cant live with that dont apply.
    5. You must have or get skype and a microphone that works. This is non-negotiable.
    6. You will pay us 15% of all net profit from tournaments other than sunday majors. You will pay us 5% of all net profit from Sunday Majors(calculated seperately from tournaments other than Sunday majors unless they're all played on the same stake for us). You will pay us 5% of all profit from any live event(this is paid on each individual event unless it is BAPed as a live only BAP in which case you can pay the 5% on the net profit of the BAP).This fee will be paid for 6 months from the start of our agreement and shall be paid additionally on the first entire WSOP following the camp.
    7. You agree not to do any paid mtt coaching for 18 months from the start of our agreement.

Also, we will want personal contact information from you including your full name, phone number, home address and any other personal information we ask for within reason. We may decide to have you sign and return some sort of written agreement as well.

We may choose to add other terms prior to choosing a student and you will have a chance to unapply if you're unwilling to agree to them. Amounts we stake will vary.

A recommendation with someone I have previously mentored or another pro we're friends with will make a huge difference. Pokerpwnage members and people who have taken my group lessons definitly have a leg up on the competition and should mention that they are members or have taken my group lessons in thier profile.

    This looks very interesting guys.

    A few questions for you...

    1. What town will this be held in?
    2. Will this be at someone's house, or a hotel?
    3. How many students are you expecting?
    4. What is the signup deadline?
    5. Is Full Tilt transfer an acceptable form of payment?

This is in Ponte Vedra Beach Florida which is the nicest beach area near Jacksonville. It's a beautiful area. If you've ever seen the Tournament Players Championship golf tournament on tv it's in Ponte Vedra.

We've rented a house on the beach.

    6 to 10 students.

We havent set a deadline but at the point where we have 8-10 students who've applied who fit the profile we're looking for we'll close signups. The camp is almost full at this point so please let us know soon if you intend to come.

    Full Tilt transfer is acceptable.

As a side note: Anyone who is paying to attend rather than asking for the % option will be accepted and there aren't winnings requirements etc for those players.

    Why the FTP exclusion?

There will be plenty of classroom style concept lessons, you'll be able to ghost our sessions, we'll ghost your session(all sites except ftp), we'll have a ton of poker theory discussions etc.

FTP recently banned ghosting. We can do analysis after the hand is over.

ATTN: Camp dates have changed to Oct 9th through the 23rd. We have the house from October 8th so if you are attending you'll probably want to fly in and shake off the jetlag on the 8th.
