My Thoughts On Bankroll Mangement

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!! IF U WANT TO MAKE MONEY PERIOD.

ITS A HAVE TO DO THING.
ITS JUST TO HARD TO FOLLOW AND WE SHOULD BLAME OURSELFS FOR NOT DOIN SO. I HATE THE FACT THAT IT TAKES FOREVER TO BUILD UR BANKROLL BUT THATS THE KEYto U HAVE SLOWLY BUILD AND BUILD. IF U TRY AND MAKE A RUN FOR IT IT MIGHT JUST CRUMBLE AND FALL U HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO START AGAIN AND THAT SUCKS.

THATS WHY I DONT PLAY 10DOLLARS 45MAN ALTHOUGH I COULD AFFORD TO BUT I JUST HATE IT WHEN I LOSE AND LOSE THESE 10DLLAR EVENTUALLY PILE UP TO 100 DOLLARS AND SO ON... THEN U HAVE TO MOVE DOWN
LIMITS IT SUCKS BECAUSE NOW UR TRYING TO GET BACK TO WHAT U LOSED
AND THIS OF COURSE TAKES U BACK FROM UR GOAL WHERE U REALLY WANT TO BE AND ITS SUCH A SLOW PROCESS THAT I WISH I COULD JSUT TAKE DOWN A LARGE TOURNY AND GET IT OVER WITH BUT IS NOT LIKE THAT AND THE SOONER I REALISE THIS THE SOONER I CAN START BUILDING PROPERLY...
AND SORRY IF ITS HARD TO UNDERSTAND BUT I AM SUCH A BAD SPELLER I WISH I CAN WRITE LIKE LAPPIN... HIS EMAILS TO FTP MAKE ME LAUGH THEY ARE LIKE MAN SOMEONE GET ME THE DICTIONARY. GREAT WRITING SKILLS LAPPIN.

a word ive been trying to get my friends used to saying when they talk about building a roll/shot taking: "cushion".

i always made sure i had enough room, or cushion, to go on a ULTRAsick downswing.

Whats up Jeff,
I could be misunderstanding you a bit, but is $10 within your bankroll to play? If so, why avoid the 45 man? It is certainly true that the variance is bigger in a 45 man rather than STSNG so you will deal with bigger swings, but if you roll can take it you'll also find a higher roi there...

If you are rolled for 10$ tourneys, you should take a shot. If you are worried about losing a lot of money in them, just mix in one or two 10$ games into your regular routine.

To avoid them hurting your BR too much, set your stop loss earlier. As in if you have 600$ in your BR, and you drop below 550 stop playing the 10 dollars till you get back up to 600. As long as you are playing well, it definitely serves you better to play the 10 dollar games as you will make more money (which this is all about).

Sooner then later you will take down a 10 45 man and from there your BR will steadily climb till you are up stealing pots with fools like us.

Patrick is an extreme example of bankroll management. He wont even cash out to buy a razor.

I agree with Dr. fill goods thoughts. Set a limit and follow it.
I like to add sertain shots or candies in my bankroll managment. Say you got 600 and planning to build to 1500. Give yourself a shot at a tourney when you reach 1000. This is motivating since BRM takes tiiiime.
(btw I'm the sickest tilt magnet alive so you prob dont wanna listen too much at what I got to say.. But I've rebuilt my bankroll 3 times from absolute scratch to some 1000 bucks.. This time I hopefully can crush my computer when I tilt and just pay a new one for the money I would ve tilted away.. That way I save money=)=))

I like to thrash keyboards, personally. They are decently cheap to replace and the keys fly everywhere, which is pretty satisfying. Mice can be fun but when they break you can't play and then you have to break something else for a whole new kind of anger... Wow.. i put too much thought into this.

lol break keyboards is exaclty wat i needed to knwo when i tilt i just will break my keyboard. lol thanks for the post you guys really goin to try a few 10dollar 45man

Good roll management is the second most important thing, after having a +ev game of course. I like to have at lest 40 buyins for the tourneys im playing, anything over the 40 buyins I allow myself to use for shot taking. As my bankroll grows so does my the tourneys I play.
