So Thursday is Cracked Aces in Omaha at Boulder. I never heard of cracked aces in the Omaha game. Turns out if you have pocket aces and the board has an ace on it (meaning you have a set of aces) and you lose, you get a hundred bucks. Heck my pocket aces always lose. Cant wait to see how much I collect to day lol. I hired a coach for omaha and purchased like a block of 3 hours for a reasonable amt. He's local so all the easier. All I am hoping for is some clarification and direction on the local games here. Like am I playing to loose, to tight. Maybe some information on how to play certain boards/flops. Just hoping this will put my game to the next level.
I've decided not to post hands cause it may look like I am telling bad beat stories and I'll wind up whining like a little baby. I want bring up some odds and probability questions on omaha poker. I've been thinking alot about wet boards. What I mean is if theres a pair on the board do they have trips or are they playing the boat (guess thats playing the player). If theres two of the same suit on the board should I bother to chase my nut straight (sweet if the flush doesnt get there). Been wondering if chasing my two pair to boat if the flop reflects either a made straight/flush is flushing money down the toilet.
With 7-9 people seeing every flop and if there's a raise and no ones fold theres more than 20 small bets on the flop plus a few more to see the turn which I believe gives you odds to see the turn regardless. Now once the turn comes and 20 small bets now equal 10 big bets with another two players moving on to see the river makes it okay to pay the big turn bet to draw out. What really doesnt make sense to me is in Omaha if theres ten players with 4 cards each (40 out of the deck) leaving only 5 cards out of twelve left to be seen is counting your outs really relevant. Conceivably if your on a flush draw you will never make it there as all the suits you need may be on all the other players hands. Tell me what you think. Cya
