    Question All in river push?

    6 seat cash table, $100nl.
    I have $179
    Opponent $100

Not played too much with this villan but he does seem to overestimate his cards a little. He isnt scared to reraise with 88. Not much more information than that.

    early limper $1
Im on button with and raise to $3.50
    SB folds
    Villan calls $3.50
    Limper calls $3.50
    Pot is $8

    Flop comes , wow thankyou.

    Villan bets out $3
    Limper folds
    I make it $9
    Villan calls
    Pot is $26

Turn comes Not the best card but I fully believe I am ahead.
    Villan checks
    I bet $18
    Villan calls
    pot is $62

    River comes

Villan waits a very long time then pushes all in for $70 more.

I called, with my notes on the villan I put him on some kind of 9, but as he would now believe a 7 was good maybee he would push in with that. I have to remember I was pre flop raiser and he might just be able to beat AA. Is there any argument for folding this hand? He seems pretty sure of HIS hand, he has just overbet the pot?

If I decide to play this hand to begin with and I flop a top straight in a cash game I am going all the way with it. I would never consider folding here. If he turned a full house then so be it.

This is almost exactly what I was going to type.

And I like the button raise too, by the way.

I didnt like the push by him but there wasnt really a hand that I could put him on that had me beat. Also with a 7 making a straight it made my call an easier decision. I called the all in and he turned over so a nice pot for me. He was arguing with a fellow player during this hand and was pretty out of line. The player had just been handed a real cooler the hand before and my opponent had just said to the rest of the table is "this must be the donk everyone was talking about". After he had shipped it with the 9 to the poor berated players joy I joined in the argument saying "they must have been talking about you". We then had quite a lengthy argument about how He played HIS hand. He was quite sure He had played it perfectly and I had just caught a lucky flop. Does anyone think this hand was a cooler for him and do you ship it in his position???

I don't like this at all. I'll explain as soon as I get motivated to explain why.

Him 3betting 88 preflop before is a good read cuz since he 3bets pps at least some of the time, it lowers the chances of him having 99 and 88 at least. A9 and 87s makes up most of his range. It's a call and expect to win 90% of the time.

I feel this is probably a call. Your opponent's river lead after check calling twice is quite strong and there are no draws that missed. He can easily be pushing a 7 here for value, given your read that he overvalue hands so that means he could have a nine here as well. He might have a boat here, but there's no folding here IMO.
