my intention was to lure him by checking the flop hoping he hit his overs on turn, but the river was just too dramatic for me. yuck.

Taking the pot down safely > Getting check raised and puking. There's probably value in a bet, but safely winning the pot is probably more valuable in this case... If this were a cash game it might be better to bet, just because re-opening the action wouldn't be jeopardizing chips that you can't replenish. I guess I'm kinda echoing the other responses though.

I agree, you aren't getting value from almost anything but a check raise bluff on the river (which would be pretty gross as ozols said) so checking the river was a good play.

Check everytime. That is unless you have some sick hand reading powers put them on a weirdly played pp not on the board (or 3x) and think they'll pay you off with another bet on the river. Pot bet or even over bet on turn, ace is a great card putting 2 flush draws and that ace everyone seems to overplay. Great great card on turn.

Guess, they have a pp that's y the post came up and you wondered if you missed a value on the river...
