Paid off with quads

This was my favorite hand from the Venetian Deep Stack event yesterday.

I limped UTG with 5-5, since I had enough chips to call a raise, but not a re-raise. Mr. Young Uber Agressive guy raised and I called. The flop came 5-5-J.

I had seen this guy play three hands so far with paired boards. in both cases, he check-raised all-in on the flop, and his opponents folded. So I decided to take the unconventional approach and bet into him.

I led out out for 975 and he instantly pushed all-in for 12,000 more. I called after double checking my cards. He showed A-3 offsuit, and I handed him a BadBeatsPoker business card.

well played. most people are "afraid" to bet quads lol. I hope you really gave him a business card cuz that would have been a priceless thing to see haha

I love how he was probably thinking "wow poker is easy, if there is a pair on board everyone just folds!"

As a matter of fact, I did. He was a nice guy who looked like a younger version of Paul Wasicka.
