I witnessed this amazing hand at the WPT Legends of Poker Main Event, and I thought others might enjoy it...
Prahlad Friedman, small blind with 68K
Matt Marafioti, UTG with 185K
Blinds/antes were 400/800 (75), and Matt raised to 2,200. Matt had been raising an average of two hands per orbit, nearly always from early or late position. His raise sizes were always the same, unless he was raising from late position - into the short-stack's big blind. In this case, he would minimum raise with strong hands, hoping to be played back at, and make large raises (four times the big blind) with hands I assume were junk.
Prahlad had been defending his big blind most of the time. He called and the flop came:
Prahlad bet 5,000 and Matt called. I had picked up a couple of tells on him, and he was showing a MAJOR strength tell when he called this bet.
The turn came:
Prahlad thought for a while and bet 15,000. Matt was still showing his strength tell as he considered for a couple of minutes. It looked to me like he was contemplating a raise, but finally he called.
The river came:

Prahlad thought for a long time and finally bet 30,000, leaving himself only 16,000 behind. Matt's strength tell disappeared the instant Prahlad made his river bet, and within a few seconds he started giving off his uncomfortable tell. Finally he looked like he was going to throw up and he called disgustedly.
I was able to name both of these hands before either one was tabled. What do you think they each were holding?
Definitely an interesting hand between two world class players.![]()
