Sick 2/5 NL beat
I usually don't complain about my sick hands because I win my share of them with the creative hands I like to play in cash games.
This hand was at Caesars in Indiana near Louisville at the 2/5 NL table. I had been playing for about 4 hours and had grown my chip stack from about $1200 to $3000 in pretty short order. The table has been unusually tight with very few flops getting more than 2 or 3 players.
I'm on the button. Seat 4 raises to $25. Folds to me on the button w/ AhKh and I reraise to $55 hoping to see a flop and keep the initial raiser around but chase out the blinds. SB folds. BB calls $55. UTG calls $55. Pot = $167
Flop comes 10h/8h/Ks. BB checks, Seat 4 bets $100, I reraise to $200 with the nut flush draw and top pair top kicker not wanting to scare away his action. BB reraises my bet to $400, Seat 4 calls the $400, I call the $300 (I may have gotten away at this point if Seat 4 folds, but my pot odds are pretty great here). Pot = $1337
Turn card is 6h. BB checks, Seat 4 checks, I lead out with $600 with nut flush, BB calls, Seat 4 folds. Pot = $2537
River card is 8s. By now I am suspicious of the BB having a pocket pair and I hate that the board paired. BB leads out with a ridiculous value bet of $500. I have to put him on TT, I figure Seat 4 had a K because he bet the flop so KK is pretty questionable as is 88 for quads.
I am forced to call his $500 and sure as hell he turns over 10c8c for the full house on the river. I almost puked. I lost almost $1500 that hand but at least I was still up for the session and ended up pretty well for the night also. This hand still makes me ill though.
