Lightbulb Battle of the Home Games

Both the Newark and Dublin games have held big events in the last couple of years that had more than 60 players and both were hugely successful for area poker...

I think we (being someone in central Ohio) should have another big event that could have a twist to it... The twist would be that each of the area homes games would have members playing for points.. So if we could get a location (Maybe Gemini or one of the other new clubs would host/sponser without a rake for growth) that could hold say 100 or more.

    Example:

$150 buyin with all of it going to prize pool...

15k in chips with 30min blinds

    Starting at 9am...

The event will be open to anyone interested but filled mainly from local leagues/games

Each area league would submit say 12 players that would pay an additional $50 (each) that would go towards a side payout.. Although each league would have a side purpose there would be no collusion allowed (unlike the team event)..

    Possible League Participants

    Delaware

    Dublin

    Phil's Tuesday

    Newark

    Granville

    BadBeats

    Mason

    OSU

    Westerville

    and so on...

    Lets hear some suggestions???

The key to this is to find a venue. I don't know the Gemini people well enough to know if they'd provide it for no cost. And what about people that play multiple leagues? Do they just pick one? This definitely has me interested, keep us posted on the status.

That fire house that I have hosted large games at with Jason Hill would hold that many people. I will ask him tonight what he thinks about availability.

And on another note......the Dublin League will be revived here in the near future. So be on the lookout......I just have to work out some details, but you all will be the first to know!
