Easiest $2K I Ever Made!!

I am back home in Toledo and I played in a $150 buyin tournament at the black swamp club which is kinda like a gemini club. IT was the championship tournament to the toledo poker league. I guess every thursday these people play in a $40 tournament for 20 weeks, and $5 comes out of each buyin and goes into the championship tournament prizepool. So for the championship tournament you get $5 off your buyin for every week you showed up to this thing. I never played in this so I had to pay the full $150 but I definately reeped the benefits of this league. only 28 people showed up and they had $4200 in prizemoney saved up from throughout the year and they had $1500 or so in buyins that day. They were paying 20% of the field so the top 6. It was by far the easiest tournament I have ever played. I had a dominating chip lead from start to finish and never looked back. We got down to 5 handed and obv i refused to chop and first places was $2,160 and they said well how a bout you take $2,000 and we just split up the rest since "you're going to win anyway" (well of course I am if they are going to have that attitude about it. They all got like $850 or something like that and I didn't even have to play out the rest of the tournament. If only everyday could be so easy.

Well played!! I understand why people chop pots but if this was the final of their league dont they want to play it out to the end, surely this is some kind of showpiece event for them? I think its a bit of a shame that they played it out that way, good for you though I guess you might enter that league, lol.

very soft field. Alot of them played tight passive and everyone of them overplayed their big pairs. There was one hand where I limped the button with 2s4s (I could pretty much limp from any position i wanted) flop came 8s3s2c the big blind checked it to me i bet 4k and he made it 10k. I call and the turn is the 4d. He bets 20k which is about a third of his stack and i shove allin. He starts thinking forever and im like could he have like 23 and flopped two pair? and im like nah he would have called by now with two pair. eventually he mucks 82 face up!! for flopped two pair! I obviously show but I comfort him by telling him I was positive a 4 of hearts was hitting the river.

It was a good structure, 10k chips, 30 min levels, 25-25 blinds to start. I show up a little late and as I am walking to my table I see someone bet and someone raise ALLIN on the board of 478 rainbow. Then I hear " I think you got me and I have two outs, but I call" he rolls over JJ and the other guy had KK. They got 400bb Stacks allin in the first level with those hands.


Once we got to the final table I had a solid chip lead and there was this kid from the other table who I hadn't played with before who had a good size stack as well. He looks like a very nice kid. The kind who has never told a lie in his life. Im on the button with about 100k when the blinds are 600/1200 and he raises utg, to 5200 and the big blind complains saying hey over at the other table you said you were just going to coast your stack into the money. He replied by saying "remember I said UNLESS I have Aces, Kings or a premium hand" I look down at 33 on the button and think well thanks for lettting me know im getting paid off if i hit. So I call and flop comes 456 rainbow and he bets out 10k and I know if a 3, 2 or 7 hits im good for sure cause he probably has Jacks or better. The turn comes a 7 and he insta shoves and i snap call he has Kings and is drawing dead to a chop with a straight on the board.
