Dana Reutter and I host this league, and we’re most likely going to start our fifth season on Saturday, January 26th. There’ll be two games per month for six months.

We’d like to get some input on the buy-in amount. The best games in town right now typically draw ~ 40 people, and have $40 to $50 buy-ins. Our games will have a similar structure and we also hope to attract the best players.

Our main difference is that we can only seat 20 players, and we’ll allow two alternates, for a total of 22 players per game. Since our game is about half the size, we are leaning towards increasing the buy-in. It was $50 last season, and we’re wondering just how big of a game people in this area would like to play.

We don’t want to make the buy-in so high that we only get ten players. That isn’t our intent at all. Since we can only seat half as many players, we’d like to have the biggest possible game that mostly fills up each time.
