This poker movie came out about a year ago, and it got horrible reviews. I finally watched it last night and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Even Tracy and Richelle thought it was bearable, and they don't even like poker that much.

I enjoyed most of the hand plays, and all the professional poker player cameos were pretty cool too.

Contrary to all the reviews I've read, I do recommend seeing this movie if you like poker. And you probably wouldn't be her now if you didn't.

You know what? I liked this movie too. I never read this thread until today. I realize it had a lot more story to it than just focusing on poker per se.....it was obviously no "Rounders," but I thought it was decent. Thought it was decent enough to give as a gift to a friend who likes poker and movies. But turns out, that friend hated it also and made no secret of it.

Oh well, I liked it!!!

Well I saw this in the theater with a non-poker friend. I found the love story to be lame but the poker scenes enjoyable. I, unfortunately, found myself talking through most of it explaining to my friend about what was going on. My friend, even after all my explaining, still had no interest in poker…imagine that!

Hey Tracy- It starred Drew Barrymore as the love interest/Vegas lounge singer, and some guy I've never seen before. Robert Duvall played his estranged father.

Lots of poker scenes.... including a very bad rendition of the World Series.

poker scenes were cool, but that Hollyrock formula romance crap just aint for me once u seen 1, u seen em all it seems
