Thumbs down How to blow $10,000 in five hours

Since this is the special forum for good natured personal attacks, I felt this was probably the place most deserving this hand play...

    W.S.O.P. Main Event - 150/300 blinds - I have ~ 16,000 chips and I am clearly retarded.

I limp from late position with:

The small blind calls, and the big blind raises to 1,600. I call and the small blind folds. There are 3,500 chips in pot and the flop comes:

There were ~ 3,500 chips in the pot when my opponent in the big blind bet 2,200. I raised all-in for ~ 13,000 more when I still had 50 big blinds left. I put my opponent on a big hand (A-A, K-K or A-K), but thought he would fold all of those to my all-in raise on such a scary board. Instead, he had pocket aces and called instantly.

I know most of the right things to do, but I refused to do them. Instead, I tried to pull off big elaborate bluffs with no hand and no outs. I did play some hands well, but the hands I played stupidly overshadow the others pretty badly.

    I'm still mad at myself.

The title of this thread should read "How to play a $10k free roll since I just cashed for 14k in another WSOP event.".. Enough crying... You will be back and better than ever... You are psychotic about poker and it will pay off in a big way very soon...

You know what's funny, I did something equally as stupid in the Lima Freezeout, I just can't remember if it was 22 or 33.

You made a play and got caught, it happens. At least you (probably) won't do it again, at least any time soon.

    Any two cards...

I've spent a lot of time reflecting on my HUGE mistake on the big stage, and I understand how bad I played...

But here's a philosophical question that has recently come to mind. I can't honestly recall if whether or not my opponent was holding the ace of spades. I'm pretty sure he must have been in order to make this call so instantly. But even so, do you think his call was a good one? Couldn't my play have been explained by a set of nines, K-J for a straight or something like 7-8 for small flush?

    ahh tough spot

Here is my opinion on the hand

If your opponent did not have the ace of clubs i think he had to fold this hand. I like to put 50 BB in the pot with only one pair for any reason

Ok lets now talk about if he did have the ace of clubs would i call

    Hands you might have
complete bluff he is 90 percent favorite
kc kh he is 78 percent favorite
kc qh he is 68 percent favorite
kj off no club he is 36 percent dog
set of anything he is around 40 percent dog
small flush he is 28 percent to win the hand

Those are the hands that i would put you on in this situation . My math is probably not the best for all of these but from these hands i am a 56 percent favorite to win against this range and since all i need to be is 43 percent to me this is an somewhat easy call.

so yesterday in 45 man my opponent did same as you more or less

    EP limper
villian completes the SB with 22
i bump it 5x in the BB with AA
    ep'er folds, SB flats
    954 FLop
SB checks i bet 2/3 pot and SB shoves the rest in
runner runner 3 6 to give villain the straight.

so maybe your not so retarded you just didnt run as good as villian in my hand.

Though the texture of youre flopp must give him a lot more FE?

    -----Added 24 Apr 2009 at 01:51:53-----

I mean if Chipless's Villain hold the A of clubs he got a FE of 0%(against any breathing opponents). But the texture of youre flopp is a lot more scary considering the PR action..?

btw Defy I has been looking to ask u. I see u play the 26/45 a lot. How much time and how deep have you explored the openshoving from btn or sb part of poker mathematics?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately as well. Do you know a good source to study this?
