I'M THINKING IT WOULD ALSO BE HELPFUL IF PEOPLE WOULD EXPRESS THEIR INTEREST LEVELS SO WE MIGHT COMPILE A LIST A PROBABLES. I THINK THIS WILL HELP TO KEEP THE INTEREST LEVELS UP AS A LIST OF 30+ PROBABLES WOULD HELP PROMOTE IT AND GIVE REASSURANCE TO EVERYONE ELSE THAT ITS GONNA BE WELL WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT.

I ALSO RECOMMEND WE WORK OUT A SYSTEM TO JUDGE PLAYER OF THE SERIES SO THAT HE/SHE AND THE MAIN EVENT WINNER MIGHT GET SOME ADDITIONAL TRINKET OF THEIR ACHIEVEMENT.

I WILL SCRIBBLE A LIST OF NAMES BELOW OF THOSE I RECKON ARE LIKELY COMPETITORS. IF YOUR NAME IS NOT MENTIONED AND YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED, POST A REPLY TO THAT EFFECT (maybe you're a satellite possibility). ALSO, IF YOUR NAME IS ON THE LIST BUT YOU WOULD NOT BE INTERESTED LET US KNOW.

if we were able to get 30 for the main event, it would be awesome and the payouts would be tasty:

    1st 2400
    2nd 1600
    3rd 1000
    4th 600
    5th 400

    ...or thereabouts! Not too shabby!

    Excellent idea.

Let's finish our current seasons first, then we can promote this with a mass email, banners, etc.

When does your season end? The bellybusters spring season hasn't a fixed end-date.

I think we need to do something to make this event stand out from our regular games/buy-ins. Therefore i think we shud not go below $50 as the min buy-in (a $20 rebuy will end being way over $50 per person on average)

however, i do think we should run satellites for players for whom a straight buy-in is too pricey (also i would try to sat in whenever possible to these events but i am well known for my nittery!)

i would however welcome other event ideas as i would a debate over scheldule...

Shud do them all over a single weekend? Maybe one a day for a week? Mayb over a couple of weeks? I think i would be in favour of one a day for a week with 2 on the saturday and sunday.

    -----Added 7 Feb 2009 at 03:29:45-----

Also, i think mayb we shud synchronise it to be during the final week of the regualr seasons of each so that the final bellybuster and badbeats league games will also be on the same sunday as the final series games.

    My opinions:

I would love satellites...while I can afford to buy into these events, I'm nitty like lappin and prefer satelliting in to my tournaments over $26.

I would suggest doing what FTOPS and (M)WSOOP do and have an event (or 2) every day leading up to the main event on Sunday. You've suggested 7 events, so you can start Monday, have one every night until Sunday where you have the big main event. You can have a $26 satellite (or less like $11) the night before and if you feel really ambitious you can have a turbo one the day of as well.

Question: Are you going to make these passworded events or is this going to be an Open event? If it's passworded, we should get on other forums and advertise for it/the websites to get more interest (unless we're happy with our numbers). If it's open, we will have more donkeys, but an unknown can take all our money...

Finally, what about a shootout event if you want to go from Sunday to Sunday...2 or 3 or 4 table shootout where top 3 (or less depending on tables) make it to final table. It would bring out a totally different poker skill in having to finish top 3 instead of just top 1...

    Just my thoughts

Depending on time of day I might not be able to play the majority of them... I would guess that I make maybe 2 of 7...

Some great thoughts by davi there....

I think they should all be passworded (even the satellites) and i agree that we should probably start them asap - maybe having one at the same time as our own weekly games. That said, i think we should still try to use these events to grow our membership and shouldn't refuse the password to anyone who wants to join one or both the sites.

I love the idea of a few satellites on the day also.

Sunday to sunday seems sensible given the popularity of sunday pokering - we could try to develop 10 tourneys then (2 for the two sundays and 1 for each of the other days)

that leaves room to get creative with 3 other tourneys - maybe:

A $24 nlhe tourney - (similar to the $1k wsop event this year) to encourage more entrants to play
    a ko event - mayb a $120ko where $20 is the bounty
a 6-handed $100 2x shootout event - a 36 player tourney (hopefully) with satellites on the day making it a 3x for those players

Another matter that has to be worked out is start time. To give the euros a sporting chance, mayb we should aim for 19.00et starts (midnight for us) and if we do 2 on the sundays, i think 14.00et and 17.00et wud work well.
