SNG Bubble Strategy
For anyone who has read Scott Fischman's book on SNG play, he has a section in there entitled 'Hand of God'. The concept is that once you reach the bubble, it makes sense to keep the short stack around and pick on the other two players. They're much more likely to give you some extra leeway, because they just 'know' it'll only be a few more hands until the short stack is gone and they'll make the money.
Tonight I played a single-table SNG and when we got to the bubble I tried Fischman's approach. There was one super short stack and I left him completely alone. But I brutally attacked the other two players.
I have to admit that this was not only a lot of fun, but it was also more effective than any other bubble strategy I ever experimented with in the past. Check out what the chip stacks looked like after about fifteen minutes of extended bubble play...
Also, I would like to know your ongoing results with this strategy. I mean, messing with the only players that can really hurt you can be problematic, I would think. Anyway, I would like to know how you feel about this approach after a bigger sample size of sng's.
