    Talking Freeroll Tournament at Work

Yesterday we had a fun $1,200 freeroll tournament here at work, to celebrate our three year anniversary in the new building. Tim King won $400 for first place, Jeff Rector won $200 for second, I won $100 for third, and everyone else (even the no shows) won $50! It was a VERY challenging game playing against people of all different skill and experience levels. I think my favorite 'house rule' was this one:

'Once a player is eliminated, he must go back to work for the remainder of his normal work day.'

Scott is definately a great boss to work for and the tournament was a lot of fun. I only managed a meager 7th place but it was hard to play against people who thought they were bluffing betting like they had the nuts and turns out they did without them knowing it. Heh....

For the record I was the first out. It was at least an hour before anyone else went out so I was able to get lot of work done because no one was interrupting me. It was funny that the guy with the least amount of poker experience got first place.

PS: Scott is a good boss

It’s definitely nice to have a boss that funds a free roll poker game during work hours. I came in 4th, it was a tough game. The table was very tough to read some guys were super aggressive, some were super tight, others bet out hands thinking they lost not knowing they had the nuts. I was getting horrible hand all day so I stayed super tight not wanting to get caught by some of the serious suck out river beat downs that I saw Scott and Chad get. Scott should post the suck out he got on me!

    vs.

I had a great time and thanks again Scott.

I had a good time to and learned that I cannot keep a poker face sitting next to Scott when I see his cards.

Dan - you crack me up the the hat/sunglasses and no expression!

I had a good time, it had been a long time since the last time I've played. I was just trying to not go back to work, I didn't expect to win. Scott knows how to make a work day fun when he wants too.

I'm a little late in commenting on this (still licking my wounds from the game).

Definetly a good time. Thanks to Scott for putting up his own money for this game. Almost makes me feel bad when I suck out on him in other games!

I will throw Scott under the bus for Dan...

Dan had not played a single hand in over an hour of play. He finally made his first raise (which was called by Jeff), then Scott went all in. Dan moved all in after that (which Jeff called again). Dan showed AA, Scott had KK, and Jeff had something like Q9. Scott was nearly felted when the miracle K came on the river. He then managed to turn that into a nice stack on his way to a painful 3rd place.

As for me... I was back to work rather early. But nothing like winning $50 for finishing near last!

Thanks again for the pizza and poker during a workday!
