yep its bound to come man so be ready.. im on a 3week downswing where ive lost bout half my roll and had to drop down 2 limits.. and its been VERY VERY VERY depressing and very hard to deal with.. just seems eveyrtime i get my money in i have best hand and lose .. so dont wana be negative man but be ready for it.. and KNOW that if you do start to lose go back lower to where you started..
But i also agree with you .,, ive been playing bout 6-7years mostly casinos and playign like shiit online but since joining this site i too have also learned very very much more about situations that i thought i already knew.. this is by far the best site on the net and filled wiht the best advice available..
And the greatest thing is that all the greatest players are members here and not shy or too cocky to share their "secrets" and intelligence about the game..
Good luck on your quest man your off to a GREAT start.. ive heard of sooo many players turning into millionairs off their 1st $50 deposit I hope your one of them man. .jsut remember to stay and stick to a good BR management i had been doing great sticking to mine until i tilted the other day and lost $700 of my $2k roll in one day playing out of my limit.. and if you have a bad day or couple bad sessions just take a few days off and come back ready to play 100%..
One more thing..read the threads about discipline, discipline is the key to building a good bankroll.. "KNOWING" when to get off and when to go due to any factor (losing, fighting wiht your girl, bad news at home, tired, hungry,) just anything that would cause you to not play 100%
    GOOD LUCK TO YOU MAN!!!!!!!!!!

    welcome to the site

this game is difficult but with the right bankroll management you cant go busto just keep playin at your limits and know when to call it quits and you should almost always recover... takes so much patience and hard work but it could be done gl

Thank you for the encouragement everyone......I built it up by proper bankroll management, but when I started having a bad session, I guess I tilted and didnt quit......I NEVER tilt in a live game, but for some reason in front of my cpu I am just Mr. Tiltomatic and proper BR management goes out the window.

I am going to give it a week or so and give it another shot.....POKER GODS....YOU CANT GET RID OF ME THAT EASILY!!!!! But good try tho! :-(

I was serious in a previous thread, what would it run me to obtain some long distance coaching from someone on this site that knows whats up in the online poker world?????

If your serious about coaching check the Poker Pwnage Banner that flashes up on the main page, I think you can get coaching from around $80/hr upwards. There is a BBP member that has a referral link in his profile, his name eludes me at the moment, maybe someone could remind me.

For low stakes players without an additional income it can be quite exspensive but its obviously down to peoples own personal circumstances whether they can afford it and choose to go down that avenue.

What helped me improve, was taking the time to trawl through a lot of the sub-sections, Beginners, Hand replay and Strategy sections to name a few and read the original posts then all the replies and see how your thinking compared.

Also once you have been on the forum and posted a bit you begin to develop a more personal level of contact with members and chat through MSN/AIM/Skype on a one to one basis or via PM which has been a huge factor in my own improvement (the key is don't be shy, if you have a question do not be afraid to ask it, from all the Pm's I have sent to a huge number of BBP members, I have always had a reply with some constructive help, you may have to be patient at times due to time zones etc, work and personal life).

Also just taking the time to rail some of the better players can help a lot as well, I sometimes devote a whole night to railing some BBP beasts and as well as enjoying the banter from the rail it can be a valuable learning tool, I take the odd note on a specific hand that interested me and will often PM the player involved and ask them for some insight into how they played the hand.

Joining in the team events also helped me as you have a common interest from the outset and it makes an initial contact with a forum member that bit easier and I received some great advice from Sterling and Bruce in the last team challenge which helped my overall game and the 45 seater format no end.

Im not sure how much reading you have done, but there is a thread which recommends a lot of reading and it points you in the right direction instead of having to wade through the huge number of poker books on the market.

Then you get down to poker software, PT/HEM seem to be the most used form of tracking software and self analysis tool, both of which offer free trials, as does SnG Wizard, SnG Power Tools which are short stack play training aids, in the Beginners section there is a thread which details sites and gives links which are useful to all online poker players which you could check out.

For me the key was to be patient, make short term achievable goals which can be attained with some dedication, application and strict BR management rather than setting yourself an over ambitious goal that could seem daunting at times and effect your game mentally, looking at things and your poker progression in the long term is the only way to go there are no shortcuts in your learning experience.

GL with things and dont be afraid to post your own hands in the Hand Replay section (use a HH converter too!! :-) )

    Thank You guys,

it is just a bit daunting to work so hard to improve my game and build up a roll, then tilt it all off. I am not giving up, I am the type of guy that gets hooked on something and has to excel at it. Weather it be poker or playing the x-box....that's just me. I feel I do excel in live play, I just need to get this online play down better.
