Maybe put a section up to stake people in tourneys? I think that would be fun.

We should get 10 people in a private tourny once a month for $150.00 buy in and nobody wins money. What we do is run the same way you run the points on the other online tourny on wed. Chip i think you should really think about this.anyway at the end of 10 months whoever is in first place gets the $15000.00 for a shot in the WSOP 10000.00 buy in and 5000.00 spending money... and whatever he wins if anything all the people that particapated in the game gets a certain percentage of his winings maybe 2 or 3%... i know i would definatly be up for that. I really like this idea Joe.....it may not even need to be $150, because $5000 spending money is a lot, especially when a great %age of your time is going to be spent in a $10,000 event. Maybe make it $125... $2500 would be plenty to cover your air and hotel and meals. Which, some of your meals are covered by voucher anyway.
OR, make it even half that price and run it as a 2-table, once a month event.
If that would incline more people to play and take their chances for cheaper...
Just a couple thoughts!
I discussed this a long time ago with another group. The problem is having the same people show up for all of the games, especially when they don't place and their points are low.

For similar ideas it is usualy done that you pay the full 'season' price up front (so $1250 in this case) that way if pople no show then it's no big deal (just give them 10th place points for the game(s) they no show). Otherwise this is a HUGE issue I have heard with these types of set ups. I would be interested in doing something like this for next year's WSOP and maybe have a weighted stake as well...just an idea.
LOL that never stopped most of us before! Anyway maybe you could keep it at a $150 buy-in and payout the leftover cash to the other 2-3 top point finishers. But I also like the idea of a season buy-in. That way there are no questions or hassles. This really interests me but I need to increase my poker bankroll and skill level first. Good luck with it!

This is what I would be thinking, and I would love to host the game at my home (it will make me buy a table, lol).
If we get 10 players per month (once a month tournament thinking 1st Sunday or Monday of the month) at $150 each that will have a have a prize pool of $18,000 by year end.
1st place - $12,000 ($10,000 event and $2000 spending fund)
2nd place - $2,000 (1,500 event and $500 spending cash).
We would have $4,000 left over in the fund, but this money would be paid out weekly to the top three.
1. $150 back - buy in the next time free
2. $110 back
3. $73 back
This way just under a 1/3 get at least part of there money back each month, would make it easier for some people.
Extra players would increase the prize each week, and could even make a 3rd -place WSOP winner - depending on number of people who shows. We could have 20 people interested each month (who knows).
If we would not get 10 people on a given month that show, the first $1,167brought in for the month would go for the MAIN WINNERS and the remainder to pay out the month.
What do you all think, what changes and all that.
