After 3 weeks of being sick (upper respiratory issues) I am back in the game. Side note, my unexplained weight loss has been finally diagnosed, and is treatable (thyroid issues)....It was a close one, and I am a happy man as we all thought the worst!

Since getting over my issues I was real hesitant to play at the Orleans, Just not sure my lungs can handle all that shitty smoke everywhere. Though its a non smoking room, it s not enclosed. Last Wed I finally ventured out for the first time and went to Rio as the whole WSOP (which is the entire convention center separate from the Hotel is completely smoke free) hoping to find my Omaha high low game. There was nothing but 2/5, and 5/10 games, a little out of my league.

I then called the South Point as I know they have been running a "Omaha high only game" for months now. It does not run 24/7. It actually only gets going late in the afternoon daily. They sometimes have a 2nd table up, but it doesnt last. Not a place/game you can count on to play any time you want. Their room is set up in such a way that its pretty smoke free, granted it is not enclosed but just the same it was okay as far as I was concerned. I played two sessions during the week winning one only playing a couple of hours and giving it back plus more in my second session. The play is horrible and you should be able to make money over the long run if the game was consistant.

Yesterday (Sat) I wanted to play and there was no game going, its like 11 in the morn so I decided finally to go back to the Orleans. Right away I started to cough just aliitle, and I am thinking shit, this will not work. I call the South Point and they say the dont expect the game to get going till like 4 pm. This is way too late as I wanted to quit by like 6 and go home and cook dinner. I stayed hesitantly at the Orleans, and what a come back. I won the most money ever in any session for this game. I won over 500.00 Thats right, OVER 500.00

So where does this leave me now? Back to the Orleans? I'm not so sure. I thinking I am going to check out Red Rock as I know they have a game going over there. I beleive their room is enclosed, so smoke is not an issue. Not sure what the players are like and whether the Omaha high low is going 24/7 but I will have to check it out. I have to check out all my options since being sick. I might check out the Venetian too. I hate that room though, It ran up to the number 1 room in town and then took shit after that. They too, dont have it running 24/7 (Last time I checked) like the Orleans does.

If I can get a good run going, I am thinking of maybe play one of the dailies (tournaments) at the WSOP. They say more and more entrants every day as on friday there were over 1500 players and first place paid like 60,000. Reminds me of the old days playing on Poker Stars. Cya
