  1. Saturday night's poker adventure

    by , 03-17-2009 at 01:06 AM
So after a stunning Friday night cash game, I decide I'm ready to roll myself in some weekend tournaments. Although Sunday didn't turn out so hot (finished 6th in a 26 person Red Rock that only paid 4 spots), Saturday night was interesting...

The plan was to go to Caesar's and play the 9pm bounty tournament. However, we encountered some seriously Effed up Vegas weekend traffic, so I suggested the 10pm Treasure Island tourny instead. It's not the best....$65 buy in, 3500 in chips, ...

  2. Friday night's poker adventure

January was a pretty slow month in the casino business. So I didn't play a whole lot of live poker, as I used most paychecks to make ends meet.

However, as things have picked up lately, I have returned to the poker scene with a vengeance.

Just a little recap of my weekend.

Friday night I worked until 10. I was tired and wanted to go home, but was talked into going over to Venetian to play a little 1/2. First hand I look down at is KK. I raise, everyone ...

So! I finished corporate Harrah's training last week. It was 2 days about the company, 1 day about your property, 2 days about customer service. 40 hours, but paid at least, even if it was only my base $8 without tips.

This week, different story. This week was unpaid. 30+ hours without a dime. Apparently everyone goes through this before becoming official as a Dealertainer. I guess their theory is that if they train you, hence saving you the cost of dealer school, you put ...

  5. Early lessons in Vegas living

    by , 07-17-2008 at 01:00 AM
    1) People drive like complete shit here. They make my driving look safe and completely reasonable. One of our first nights here, we witnessed (and were seconds from being the unfortunate victims of) an idiot plowing through a red light at 45mph, t-boning a car and sending her spinning through the intersection to hit ANOTHER car.

    2) "Hot" is really hard to describe until you actually live in Las Vegas. I had on heels for an interview and could feel myself sinking into ...
