    Question Straight on board.

Just a quick question on everyone's opinion.

Since I've started playing more HU, I've had this situation come up several times.

Both players are around 1500 chips still
    Blinds at 40/80
Villian completes SB and I check.
I'm dealt a decent HU hand and decide to play and see if I hit the board.
    Let's say

    Flop comes both check

Turn is You bet 320 and villian calls

River is You check and Villian shoves all his chips with a straight on board

I tend to let this situation go and wait for a better spot. What are your thoughts?

It is the perfect opportunity for him to bluff but I ussually let it go. You would be kicking yourself if he did have the king. He now has a big lead in the game but you are very much still in it.

This is fold. Unless there is some sick read on why villian can't have a king here, you can't hero-call for only a split.

You should take into consideration how often he is raising preflop and what his pf raising range is. SInce he limped, I'm betting he didnt have the K. I'm pretty aggressive HU, and I'm almost always raising pf with a K. It really depends on your read.

    Since your situation is generic...

If his bet is ever bigger than the size of the pot it is autofold. Just about no one overbets the pot to bluff.

If the shove is less than 1xpot, it depends on reads but is usually a fold.

If the bet is 1/2 pot or less and villain is last to act, I am almost always calling.
"You have it in your power to turn a bad-beat around simply by realizing this simple truth: The more bad beats you encounter, the luckier you are. It's a sign that you are playing against opponents who continually take the worst of it, and if you can't beat someone who always takes the worst of it, you can't beat anyone"
