    Exclamation Full Tilt Account Reinstated

Well, I am back in business now. Full tilt has reinstated my account.

I did NOTHING wrong, and they acknowledge that fact. But, my account was closed temporarily due to my association with a member who has an outstanding issue with his full tilt account.

FOR THAT I lost 8 days of play? Seriously?

I must urge all of you to exercise great care in protecting your accounts. Here is what they sent me:

After reviewing your account, we have determined you are closely associated with a player who has an outstanding issue with their Full Tilt Poker account.

We have determined you are associated to this player due to one or more of the following:

    * Your accounts have logged in using the same computer or IP address.
    * There is similar information on your accounts.
    * You have shared payment processor accounts.

For security and privacy reasons, we are unable to release the Player ID of the account in question.

To protect our players and maintain the security of our site, we must take all precautions and suspend closely-associated accounts, and for this reason, your account had been temporarily closed.

That said, we have reinstated your account. To ensure your account remains in good standing Dmitri, it is imperative that you do not allow other players to access their accounts using your computer, and likewise, please do not use another player's computer to access your account. Should you [sic] account become suspended again, we may not be able to reinstate your account until the other players have resolved theri [sic] account issues. Please do not share computers to ensure this does not become your situation.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Now, this is troubling and confusing to me.

    1) I have two computers here. Sometimes people visit and we both play. Occasionally, multiple people may come over and we have "tournament Sunday" or something like that, and we have three or four computers playing at the same time. No collusion is taking place and no rules are being violated. I have specifically asked Full tilt in the past if this is okay, and they said yes, as long as no one sits at the same cash game table or STT, and as long as no collusion occurs should we happen to be seated at the same table in a multi-table tournament.

Are they now saying I cannot do this? That only I may play from my IP address?

    2) Similar information on accounts? I know for fact that cannot possibly apply to me. No one has similar information on their accounts as I do.

    3) Shared payment processor accounts? This definitely does not apply.

    4) I cannot use someone else's computer to access my account? SO, anytime I travel I cannot play? What's up with that?

    5) What if there is a storm and I lose internet, which happens sometimes. Am I not allowed to have someone else finish my games for me?

As a follow-up to what I just posted, can someone provide a link to their official terms of service rules so that I can read exactly what they publicly stats is and is not allowed? For some reason I always have a hard time finding this information. There should be a direct link to it from the Full Tilt lobby.

The only thing that I see that would violate their rules is :

    5) What if there is a storm and I lose internet, which happens sometimes. Am I not allowed to have someone else finish my games for me?

This is totally against their rules. If you were playing in a live tournament but suddenly had to leave to go to the hospital no one else may play your chips. They would be blinded down. Same applies online. Am I saying no one does it..... absolutely not saying that. But if you tell them this you do this they could suspend your account again.

Can you provide a link? I read their rules awhile back and I could have sworn they said this is acceptbale in the event of a power outage.

The live tournament really is a bad example. We're talking about online poker, not live poker.

This is utter bs IMO, my wife and I have seperate accts. on full tilt and ps...... and we are traveling all the time, therefore we use the same computer, Ip and have alot of the same info in our registrations as we live at the same place. I have had problems with full tilt and my acct before but never has it been where they have shut my acct down, or my wife's because of outstanding problems with one or the other acct. I would contact them, thank them for the reinstatement and ask just what problems they encountered. If at that point they tell you that they aren't allowed tell them it's your friggin acct. and you have a right to know what the hell is going on with your account, it is after all your money and security!
Playing 72 from utg is like wiping before you poop........ It just doesn't make any sense

    looking for the rules

I just scoured the site looking for the rules. I cannot find ANYTHING about the stuff they talked about in their E-mail to me.

    Specifically,

I could not find anything saying whether it is allowed or not allowed for two people with two different computers to play from the same IP address (for example, two roommates, a husband and wife, a friend visiting another friend, etc.).

I could not find anything saying whether it is allowed or not allowed to call a friend in case of a power outage and finish your tournament by having him log in and relay your cards over the phone while you relay to him what you want him to do with them.

I could not find anything that says it is allowed or not allowed to log in to your account from someone else's computer when you are away from your home computer for whatever reason.

Shouldn't this stuff be easier to find?

Definitely a crappy situation. I would say you got lucky with only an 8 day suspension though.

I had a similar situation with bodog. I tried to log into my account at a friend's house one night and it blocked me. I called them up and I was told that my account was frozen for being "linked" to a former member who owed them money. Apparently my buddy had played on bodog years ago (before I even knew him and a solid year or so before i even had an account) and somehow managed to owe them money. Not sure how somebody can owe money to an online site, but whatever. I gave them all my information (which they required) to confirm my identity was not that of my buddy who owed them money. They then decided not to release my account and instead hold it "hostage" until my buddy contacted them. So I told him about the issue and said that he has to call them. He acted a little shady about the whole thing and really didn't want to call them, which told me he had done something and they probably weren't messing with me about him owing them money. I forced him to call as they were currently holding my account and the $870 I had on there hostage. He calls and argues with them on the phone for literally 2-3 hours. In the end, they said he owed them $950 and wouldn't give me my account back until he paid. Long story short, they took $800 out of my account and gave me my account back with $70 left in it. They said they would release my money back to me when he paid them what he owed.

After a small beating, my buddy paid me the money they took and never squared his deal with bodog. I have since run my $70 up to $3500 so I guess it worked out. But I know I will never play my account on somebody else's computer.
